Living in the UK, I get a lot of my mates over here asking me about why Irish people support certain clubs in the UK. Obviously the likes of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc will always have an overseas following but its the less popular teams ie villa, west ham and my own team Everton. Then it went on to the subject of Celtic/Rangers. I explained the age old story of the history of both clubs 'supporters'. My firm belief though is that most Irish celtic fans are celtic fans when the old firm play each other 8 times a season, and then revert back to their other team for the rest of the year, in fairness who wants to see Celtic play Dunfermline etc. Am I way off the mark, and if so I apologise to real celtic fans, or is it a pretty accurate assesment?

That's more or less spot on. Most Celtic fans in Ireland tend to follow another club first and then Celtic.

Then there are others like me who watched the Falkirk game last Sunday in Cantonese and who travel as often as possible.

We are infact the laughing stock of Europe due to the fact we cant support or own teams like Cork City, Shelbourne, Waterford or Derry City. Fair enough its not the Bundesliga but hey, its our own!;)

Have you figures to support the FACT that we are the laughing stock of Europe? Any links that prove the whole of Europe is laughing at us or is it just FACT in your head.

Basically, Celthick used to represent the sporting wing of the provisional IRA, bartool republicans and little irelanders can project their pseudo republican ideology onto Celthick and thereby let it masquerade as "support"

You'll have to start setting that alarm clock a little earlier POL. I do fear you will get a bite though.
