This must be an old list . cos there was no Tood Bertuzzi's sucker punch on Steve Moore. Would surely have been no 1

Unbelieveable First time I ever saw that.... Whats the story with the refs skating around the fight, do they let em at it till they hit the deck & then intervene or what?

Moore hasn't played since. He's still on the Colorado roster but the last I heard he was a school teacher in Toronto. Bertuzzi was back last season but hasn't been the same player since.

Ya Generally the refs just leave them at it untill someone goes to ground and loses control.. They then come in to break it up. The players get 5 minutes in the sin bin each I think.

The fighting is a tradition at this stage. No more than some entertainment for the fans. after that incident they tried to cut it out but to no avail.

not nec. true anymore a lot of teams are starting to get rid of their "fighters" for better goal scorers. as the penalties anymore arent worth fighting for (increasing pen. minutes) if you start a fight now its a major.

But it's still there. Players are more selective about getting involved . Which probably makes it better cos you know that when a fight breaks out, it means something.

I remember watching a Leafs game last year when right at the start of the game some of the players ignored the puck being thrown and just went for each other. Forget the other team involved so can't find it but it was class.

Good ol nhl.com is decent for getting the highlights on their website the next day so will be able to keep up with most of the action this year.

I'm tipping San Jose to go all the way this year. They've got the best attacking options by far . Thornton is is the best Hockey player around at the moment.
From the East , I think the old school teams like the Flyers, Rangers or Leafs could do really well this year.
