I think so, it's been a while since I've seen it but it's always worth a watch!

Can't see youtube in work now, but i assume its the dalglish goal in 86, as the CL semi really wouldn't be thread worthy at this stage.
I happened to see this game the other day on espn classics and dalglish even at 36 was different class. however one thing that struck me was the pace of the game was so slow. chelsea had speedie, spackman, nevin and dixon, 4 top players, although liverpool had a good team too

Casiraghis one and only goal for Chelsea before he was crippled by injury and had to retire.

Babb was lucky he wasnt crippled there as well!

Cheers Philby, that was funny stuff.:D

I know Im biased...but IMO that Drogba goal is a better goal than crouches overhead kick in the champions league and Alonsos goal from inside his own half.

No

It's the Babb crushes his nads against the goalpost moment.

Hard to watch.

Really? I am of course biased but I would have thought the Crouch one far harder to execute and the Alonso one better than both.

I'd go with Drogba's simply for the fact that he was being marked pretty closely . That made what he did a lot more difficult.

Crouch didn't have a defender within 5 yards of him.

Whereas Alonso had to rely on a major mistake from the keeper

drogba for me as well, technically its excellent, tightly marked controlled the ball spun on a sixpence and gave reina no chance.

remember the brother ringing me all excited telling about the alonso goal and how he had scored from inside his own half, only to be disappointed when i actually saw it,harper slipped ffs,his strike against v luton last year better imo.

The defending was poor for all three but i think Crouch's was the best

As for the Drogba one-Pundits reckoned that no-one could have known that Drogba was gonna shoot but i reckon thats down to his reputation, people underestimate his skill-if it was Ronaldinho who the ball was arriving to the defender and keeper woyuld have been a lot more quicker to react

That's what was so good about it. The defender did what he was supposed to. Got tight enough but gave enough space so that he didn't get turned easily. The way Drogba spun and shoy without even having to shift it was sensational

As good as Drogba's goal was, rightly or wrongly, the feeling pervades that he simply swang a boot at it and got extremely lucky. A stream of embarassing fumbles on the ball have clouded people's judgement of Drogba as a player (he always seemed quite skilfull for his build while playing in France) to such an extent that we only grudgingly accept that it was an amazing goal.

Crouch's goal was all down to his technique, it was perfect. Usually those types of overhead kicks look less technically correct the more replays (from diff angles) you see but crouch's was the opposite. Each time you see it you actually rate it even more highly. Crouch has a good volleying technique (watch any of his warm-ups and you'll see him practicing them constantly) so it was by no means a fluke.

Both are amazing goals & I don't think I could pick between them so I'll give it to Xabi because his goal showed a football thinking on a higher plane than everyone else on the park while also displaying exquisite technique. Don't let Harper's slip spoil it. It was a fabulously inventive strike.

I can't believe i'm fucking after agreeing with Philby and General Mick within in the same half hour period.........

I think Drogba is a lot more skillful than people give him credit for though
A bit ungainly, almost Ruudesque in awkardness, but still a quality player

I I agree. I`d take Alonso`s one out of contention too by the way due to the obvious keeper error.

Drogba had to control the ball, swivel and hit it on his weaker side whilst being marked, brilliant goal.

No idea what's he's saying but I'm pretty sure the commentator here picks Crouch's goal.

My fav moment:

Seein Eidur Godjohnsen's half volley fly past the post in the 6th min of extra time in the CL semi final in 2005
It felt like slow motion....unreal
