I rate Ramos as a better manager than Jol, I just think that adjusting to a new league/language/culture etc while having the bones of your side ripped out was a bit too much for him.

Agreed, short term pain for long term gain. Hope they stick with him. Proven winner and his teams have played great football to boot. Once they get one win it'll pick up. Wouldn't want to be playing Spurs any time soon. Inevitably someone is going to take a pasting from them.

Dunno bout that - Bolton on Sunday (possible) but then its Arsenal & Liverpool up after. If they don't pick up 3 this weekend, could be middle of November (Foolham away) before they do...

On paper you imagine that Spurs would do better against Bolton than Liverpool or Arsenal, however they have gotten half their points so far at Stamford Bridge

Spurs do tend to do better against the bigger teams, then the ones they should be beating. They may well beat Bolton today, both teams have had a poor start to the season. If they loose that game then it is Arsenal away, and Liverpool and Man City at home.
The morale in the team must be at an all time low, but they are professionals they should be able to out that behind them, and go out for the win.
Gomes needs to cop on to, what has he been thinking in the past two games God only knows.

'arry's thoughts ahead of the Zagreb game
Harry Redknapp is looking forward with excitement to his first European game in charge of the team tomorrow night.
The gaffer knows all about the tradition of great European nights at The Lane, and he expects no different when we take on Dinamo Zagreb in this UEFA group match.
Harry knows we will be in for a tough game but has called on the fans as well as his own team's fighting spirit to not give the Croatian champions a moment's rest once the first whistle blows.
"European nights at The Lane can be special," said Harry. "The Club has a great tradition of European football and the atmosphere should be fantastic as always.
"If we get a result here, it sets us up nicely in the group, and having lost the first game, this is especially important.
"Dinamo are a dangerous team. Having looked at the videos, they've got some good players, and like all Croatian teams, they can play.
"We can't let them settle into a steady passing routine, we have to put them under pressure and play the game at our tempo."
Giovani Dos Santos has been ruled out of the clash with an ankle injury, while Jermaine Jenas is also a doubt with the toe injury that forced him out of Saturday's win over Liverpool.
Jamie O'Hara misses the game through suspension, and both Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka are cup-tied.
Harry added: "Gio picked up an ankle injury in training the other day, which is a big setback for him.
"We can't put a time limit on it but he certainly won't be available for the forthcoming matches. JJ is also still struggling with his toe."

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has said that the Premier League relegation battle takes priority over Thursday's UEFA Cup clash against Dinamo Zagreb.
Spurs have taken seven points from three games since Redknapp was appointed - but they are still bottom of the table and face a tough trip to Manchester City at the weekend.
"I would love to get to a cup final again, but getting Tottenham up the league to a respectable position is key as well," he said. "We've got a lot on our plate.
"Every game is big for us now - the league games coming up especially. It's so tight, there are 14 teams in a position where they will be looking over their shoulder worried at what is coming.
"I've never seen a tighter league and it may take more points than normal to stay up."
With the trip to City in mind, Ledley King will be rested and Jermaine Jenas may sit the Dinamo game out with his toe injury.
Jamie O'Hara, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Vedran Corluka will also be fresh for the weekend as they are unavailable to face the Croatia league leaders.
Youngster John Bostock is expected to be on the bench as the players frozen out by former boss Juande Ramos - Paul Stalteri, Hossam Ghaly, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Adel Taarabt and Ricardo Rocha - were not registered to play in Europe.
"I'd love to get him on the pitch," Redknapp said of Bostock. "He's only 16, a kid with terrific talent and a lovely left foot."
Bostock was controversially signed in the summer in a deal that could cost more than £2 million, leaving Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan furious. The 16-year-old has been billed as one of the brightest prospects in England.
"He is a special young player with terrific ability - how far he goes is up to him," Redknapp added. "With all young players it will be up to them how hard they want to work at their game.
"I'd love to get some of the youth team into the first team: that is the long-term aim."
Midfielder Luka Modric will put friendship aside when he faces his former club.
"I'm really glad to meet old friends," Modric said. "But I'm a professional and I will try to do my best to help Tottenham win."
Modric, 23, has been transformed since Redknapp's appointment and has vowed to repay the faith of the new boss, who wants to build a team around the Croatia playmaker.
Under Ramos, Modric looked overwhelmed by the English domestic game - but Redknapp has played him as a support striker in his first three games and noticed a difference.
Modric, who starred at Euro 2008, also wants to beef up his physique to cope with the pace of English football.
"In the future I will try to put on some weight and add strength but at the moment there are no problems with that," he said.
Delighted that young Bostock might get his chance, but the circumstances behind it are slightly comical in fairness. Spurs sign two cup-tied players in the transfer window, and then don't bother registering a further five (albeit fringe players)

How did Frazier Campbell not score in fairness. Spurs now have six points with a home game against Spartak Moscow remaining. Read an interesting stat today. Glasgow Rangers are the only team not to qualify from the group stages of the UEFA cup on 6 points since the new format has been in place.

Abramovich who is also chairman of CSKA has allowed his moscow rivals to use Chelski's training ground to prepare for their UEFA cup clash with Spurs. however not all of the squad are grateful.
Spartak Moscow striker Artur Maloyan has roasted the catering facilities at Chelsea's Cobham training ground.
Maloyan and his Spartak team-mates have been using the multi-million-pound complex to prepare for their UEFA Cup clash with Tottenham, but not everything has met with their taste.
"I like everything here except the food," Maloyan said. "We saw John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho and Joe Cole using the same canteen as us. Those guys must be pretty undemanding.
"They sit on plastic chairs which are more suitable for outdoor BBQ parties and even eat from disposable paper plates."
The Cobham facility was unveiled as Chelsea's new base in May 2007, and is equipped with state-of-the-art training, rehabilitation, medical and media technology.
Chelsea players and staff must pass a fingerprint scanner to gain entry to the complex, which is decorated with artwork by the respected graffiti artist Temper.

Aston Villa/CSKA Moscow v Shakhtar Donetsk/Tottenham
Both Tottenham and Villa will face very tough away legs. I think Spurs are lucky to have the away leg first. avoiding having to go to the Ukraine just 3 days before a 'possible' Carling Cup final with Manyoo
First legs to be played February 18 and 19. Second legs to be played February 26

Two teams boasting rich domestic cup pedigrees are set to meet in the UEFA Cup Round of 32, where FC Shakhtar Donetsk kick off their bid to claim the trophy for the first time with a home clash against two-time winners Tottenham Hotspur FC.This will be the two sides' first meeting in European club competition.
Both Spurs and Shakhtar have a reputation as domestic cup specialists. Though the pair have also won league titles, Tottenham twice claiming the English crown and Shakhtar boasting four Ukrainian championships, they have long been sides to be feared in knockout competition. Shakhtar have won four USSR Cups and a further six Ukrainian ones, while Spurs have won eight FA Cups and four League Cups.
The winners of this tie will take on Aston Villa FC or PFC CSKA Moskva in the Round of 16 on 12 and 18/19 March, and will play the second leg at home.
The Round of 16 could therefore include a third all-English UEFA Cup tie. Wolverhampton Wanderers FC met Tottenham in the 1971/72 final while Spurs took on Liverpool in the semi-finals the following season.
You'd worry about Spurs options upfront, with Keane, Pavlyuchenko & Defoe unavailable

'arry has said today that the UEFA isn't a priority. as well as the cup-tied absenties, Woodgate, Modric, Palacios, Cudicini and Lennon are being left at home.
Ledley King and Jamie O'Hara are returning from injury and will not travel,
while Adel Taarabt or Ricardo Rocha cannot be picked for the UEFA Cup as the pair were not registered by former coach Juande Ramos at the start of the season.
Redknapp is focusing instead on premier league safety and the forthcoming Carling Cup final against United on March 1st.

Tottenham 4-1 Manchester United
Date Played – 1st January 1996
Everything came right for Spurs on New Years day of 1996 as they hammered Manchester United 4-1. The match started at a fast tempo, as a highly organized Spurs team played the better during the early stages of the tie. Tottenham’s starting line up included Teddy Sheringham, Andy Sinton, Nick Barmby and Darren Anderton and they clearly looked the better team. Chris Armstrong gave Spurs the lead early on as his partnership up front with Teddy Sheingham, looked to be blossoming. In total Man United had 24 attempts at goal, however with a back line consisting of Sol Campbell, Steve Carr and Gary Mabbutt, United were only able to score one goal. Tottenham finished the match scoring four goals, two of them coming from Chris Armstrong.
