It's a sports show that's on every weekday from 7pm until 10pm. It covers pretty much everything and there's a football segment from 9.30 most days. The contributors are quality especially Graham Hunter for the European footie.

Its rubbish , seriously , its like The sun in audio format and they have some right knobheads in the studio. Some Kerry mucksavage that always mentions corner forward in his soccer analysis. The only decent fella they have in that show is Oisin langan.
The most infuriating thing of all is that when they give out scores on a night ,they go thru UK,Spain ,Italy ,GAA ,Horseracing ,Womens volleyball and European onelegged Tic-tac-toe first rounds , then say "oh by the way , Cork City beat someone tonite "

its a pretty poor show alright.. I live in Dublin so have heard it for awhile before newstalk got its extended licence.. they cover too much and the contributors tend to be pretty poor.. the bulk of the content on this forum is better then what you'll hear on it. Although, if you are just looking for the scores cos you can't get to a tv, its not a bad show for just keeping you up to date on pretty much everything thats going around the place...

Harsh.

They cast a pretty jaundiced eye over everything and are always banging on about teams and players being too hyped. So comparing them to the Sun etc is pretty ridiculous. That's 606.

RTE 1 on a friday night and 909 are still miles ahead

It's alright for RTE seeing as they only broadcast one show per week. I've never heard 909- what's it like?

Listened last night, don't know what show it was but it was about sports and was taking calls from the public. Overall not impressed so far, had some clowns on about liverpool and rafa must stick with the same team etc etc.

I try to get away from this type of shit when at home. haven't heard any of their experts yet, so I'll hold judgement for now. They've got Gilesy, Hook and Popey so I'm fearful.

The only thing that annoys me about the show is that Gilroy isn't on it anymore as I rate him over the rest.

As for the 12 months bit- well I'vee been living in Dublin for 5 years and listening to it since it started and am still a fan.

Hook is there for the hyperbole but his technical analysis of the game is always spot on.

Anyway, it's the only thing that does daily sport so I'd rather listen to that in the car over music etc.

It sounds a bit cynical if you ask me, but then I haven't heard it myself yet. Oisin Langan used to be good when he was on Red FM though.

I listened to it last night, and I enjoyed the way that their reporter didn't allow "Stan De Gaffer" away with all this horseshit about rebuilding for World Cup 2010, (Hopefully South Africa will be ready) and using Euro 2008 as a kind of warm up to blood new players, thereby kind of admitting that he is lowering his thresholds so that if we don't qualify for Euro 2008 he can fall back on the whole World Cup 2010 crap. "I can't buy players," he says, and the Newstalk guy in studio goes, "tell us something new about international managers, Stan."

All in all, a rather good show I suppose.

He's not a big fan of Cork people (who is apart from Cork people ;))....would you go way outa that. If he said it it would have been very much tongue in cheek! He is a great presenter. He also once said when talking about GAA that Meath were a county of Red Arsed Mules....and considering Cian Murtagh and I think Dave McIntyre also are Meath men, he hardly meant it! Murph a Galway man in on record as saying he hates Munster, and he thinks Mushy Buckely is a "big girls blouse" ......Dp you think he meant that too?
