Saturday, September 23rd, 2006
Radisson Hotel San Francisco Airport, 5000 Sierra Point Parkway, Brisbane CA 94005

Tentative Schedule:
Saturday, September 23, 2006
Radisson Hotel San Francisco Airport, 5000 Sierra Point Parkway, Brisbane CA 94005
1pm to 2pm: Registration

2 pm to 3:15
Nationally Syndicated Pet Columnist Steve Dale
If you read the pet columns in any national newspaper you have probably come across Steve's column. Based in Chicago with Tribune Media Services, Steve authors the most well-read pet column in the nation. And he has taken an interest in our cause - why can't California get past the ferret issue?

"It's about time! If it's good enough for the other contiguous 47, why not California?" And Steve doesn't want to ask this question of us - he wants to ask:
The Sierra Club
The California Waterfowl Association
The California Audubon Society
The California Fish and Game Department
And they will be invited to his talk to candidly state their objections and concerns over this issue. If they won't discuss the issue - we'll report on that too, in a press release.

3:30 to 4:30
Assemblyman Paul Koretz
Author of AB 647 - this year's ferret bill
By the time of his appearance, we will know the a lot more about the success or failure of AB647. If successful and on the Governor's desk awaiting the governor's signature, expect a pep rally. How can we get this bill put into law? If the bill is dead as of press time - what lessons did we learn? Regardless - Assemblyman Kortez deserves a huge thank you for carrying this bill

4:30 to 5:30
Deli-style buffet dinner. Nothing fancy, but take a break from all the action and recharge for the next two speakers:

5:30 to 6:30
Jeanne Carley, aka the Ferret Calendar and legislative lead for the ferret issue.
Jeanne gave a fantastic presentation at the Ferret Round Up on how she gets those ferret poses. If you have seen any of her calendars you know what we mean. This is a dynamic PowerPoint Presentation, but unlike the Ferret Round Up we have professional Audio/Video equipment so you can receive full benefit of her work and senses of humor and style.

6:30 to 7:30
Dr Rene Gandolfi - the Bay Area's favorite ferret vet -
Ferret Medicine for the more knowledgeable ferret owners. You know about distemper and adrenal disease; but what else is there to know in dealing with ferret healthcare? What kind of problems are ferret owners reporting and what is the latest in ferret medicine? Dr Gandolfi has been a great asset to the ferret community, including a stint as the veterinarian editor for the American Ferret Association and will share his experiences with the group.

It's time for a major Northern California Ferret Event – and the 2006 Legalize Ferret Revival is just the ticket!

they're illegal because in the 1800s african slaves trained them to attack their white masters.

They can be vicious, especially when you're taking a bath.
