pretty bubbles in the air,
and they fly so high,
that that the reach the sky,
and like my dreams they fade and die,
fortunes always hiding,
i've looked everywhere,
i'm forever blowing bubbles,
PRETTY BUBBLES IN THE AIR.

what a day to be a hammer, the rest of the prem can eat my grits.

i told some of you (MON gets special mention) that we are no longer a feeder club and that things have changed, and no no, they knew better. humble pie.

One year, two tops!! This half owning stuff is really dodgy and considering the people involved that's what it would appear to be. Parma with Adriano, Eto'o at Mallorca (i think??)........wher e are they now within a year or two? No doubt it's a great coup. West Ham fans will be overjoyed and rightly so but yer still a mid level club and the best ye can hope for is a year or two of excitement and a tidy profit when they move on.
Ask yourself this Liam, do you really think that as a kid in Argentina Carlos Tevez lay in bed dreaming of the day he'd finally sign with West Ham and get to grace the hollowed ground of Upton Park? He'll flop and move on or hit and move on but he won't be there very long!! -AmadeusDC-

You'll always be a feeder club Liam. If United come in for either player they'll be gone in a shot. Didn't Tevez have a United top on a few weeks ago? And didn't Ince pull a similar stunt.

There's no shame in it. Every club has it's place on the food chain. Celtic are a feeder club as well. There's not too many who'd swap plying their trade at West Ham or Celtic for a place at United.

If you want a proper opinon, ask Peter "Pointer" Grant what he thinks and tell him I said hello. You're blowing bubbles Liam but you're blowing them out your hole.

Just for future reference Liam, are you saying to me that 9 times out of 10 if United/Arsenal/Chelsea or Liverpool want one of your players that the player will remain loyal to West Ham?

I'd be very interested to see the list of guys who've turned down offers to play at one of these clubs.

Defoe
Johnson
Lampard
Carrick

But I'm really interested in finding out the answer to this:

What the fuck are you talking about? its this kind of attitude towards teams outside the 'top 5' that is the ruination of the game. If you only consider the mega rich/ corrupt as fuck teams in the top 5 as being the only teams worth supporting then you are a fucking idiot and should support scottish football where there even less mickey mouse teams to worry about. Btw im not a hammers fan, just a disgruntled football fan who is sick of the overhyped, over rated top 5 bollocks that is awash in football at the moment. Rant over.

Liam.

I've given you proof of where guys have actually moved on from West Ham to bigger clubs.

Show me proof that Reo Coker turned down United & Arsenal or Harewood turned down Tottenham.

West Ham may have turned down bids (still waiting for a link to conclusive proof) but these players would jump at the chance of football at a higher level. David James went to Man City FFS.

In fairness, all clubs have a point in their history where players have left and gone to bigger clubs.

United fans, do you remember Wilkins going to AC Milan or Hughes going to Barcelona.

West Ham actually have great potential. London could support three big clubs and considering West Ham's location and the potential spread of support into Essex and Kent, they could yet become one.

Maybe this will all turn out to be a disaster, but I look forward to seeing these guys playing in the Premiership, congratulate West Ham on managing to sign them and now expect to see the Hammers up in the top 6 at the end of the season.

nah, there's too much expectation on them now, they'll blow it big time. mid table mediocrity again. i wouldn't expect the 2 new boys to actually put any effort into their season.

I'm not denying that at all and I'd include Celtic as a feeder club to the English Premiership (see Petrov).

The thing is, players always want to better themselves and regardless of how big a club Liam is deluding himself that West Ham are they'd be gone in a second if a bigger club came in. There are exceptions to the rule of course but few and far between. Sure West Ham turned down an offer *allegedly* for Harewood but if Spurs return with a price matching West Ham's evaluation then he wouldn't have to think twice. And that's just Spurs we're talking about - not United, Barcelona or whoever.
