martin O Neill plus a takeover.... one of the most interesting teams of preseason and may be modified and fine tuned into a great team or stay with the back of the pack!

Where do u think they'll finish this year?

It really depends on signings though MON can do an awful lot with a threadbare squad. I would say 10th to 12th.

That's O Neill's strength though is motivating average players to get the most out of them. The Celtic side that reached Seville would not have stood up to the strength of the Barca or Liverpool sides it put out of the tournament as regards squads but he got good performances out of them. Alan Thompson is a prime example.

I actually think he'll get alot out of Djemba Djemba - he likes physical players.

He's less than average and has got a bad attitude but we'll see
I couldn't really give a damn about Villa to be honest but they now have one of the top 6 managers in the league at leats so it's great for them

They're a club it's very hard to give a damn about but, and I could be wrong on this, they're the 4th successful English Club which is impressive considering how shite they are. If he has a bad attitude, MON won't care how much he cost and he'll boot his balls out (Berkovic). Sounds as though he wants to fight for his place though.

Definitely behind

Chelsea
Man Utd
Arsenal
Liverpool
Spurs

Probably behind
Blackburn
Bolton
Newcastle

Possibly behind
Everton
Man City
Middlesbrough
West Ham
Wigan

It'll take a season for O'Neill to make something decent of the Villa team.

So, I'd say around 10th or so.

i've got a feeling if the can sort their ownership thing out before the season start that they could do very well, although it shouldn't last. a lucky run of wins with a bad spell at the end of the season which will have next years expectations much higher only to find it much harder. if MON is to turn then around he's goning to need a couple years.

I love Villa Park though, but then again most United fans do!

Sorry. Some confusion there I think. I was answering the original question of where they'd finish in the premiership next season.

FA Cup winners

League Cup winners

National Lottery winners

what, they have MON dont they - the modern day miracle worker!

now i think the appointment of MON is good capture for villa i really struggle to see them breaking into the top 10,certainly wont be fighting relegation this season but thats bout all - perhaps a decent cup run.

I would say finishing around the 10th mark would suffice and be most likely for this season. Maybe next season then we'd see what they're made of.

Villa are the new chelsea?

Perhaps, remains to be seen whats players will come in.... they are all crap now so who cares u leaves.... if villa get decent players, they might cause a few upsets..... Stevie G sayign he doesnt give a shit about villa...... he will if Villa beat them? God only knows what O'Neill will do..... money is the factor now. A squad so small!!!

If Villa had been relegated, Mick McCarthy would be manager!!

I actually voted for them to finish in the top 6
I think practically all the clubs in the division are over-rated so i don't see why not
I personally don't care about most other clubs though though i like Villa and hope they will do well and take points off united main rivals
They might beat United too but United have a very good record there
Thats why i like Villa so much i didn't mean any offense
At least they have decent manager now

By the looks of the poll, most people think they'll finish between 7th & 14th.

I'll make up a pie chart
