Wouldn't have Phil Neville on an U12 team

You can guarantee that Neville , if fit, will play every game,Although he could play quite a bit this season at full back. The thing is he's not gonna get too many goals or assists. And he had disciplinary problems last season. but then leave out Henry at your peril

this season ive bowed to getting my title back as opposed to unearthing jems at low money and trying to get the most valuable team going.

I am mulling over Jenas or Kevin Nolan. I find it hard to see Nolan topping the season he had last year, i don't think bolton will do especially well. Jenas on the other hand is not the player that Nolan is, but he is in a considerably better team.
Nolan is 8, Jenas is 7 million.
At the moment Jenas is looking like better buy.
I don't have Henry, Lampard Gerrard,Terry,Rooney in my squad. Taking the less is more approach this season.

leaving lampard out is tough though. i wonder will he get his 2 goals and 2 assists per game for about a month or two and whoever has him flies ahead

It is tough, and it may come back to haunt me, but the way i`m looking at it at the moment is that i`ve got 3 good strikers and 4 midfielders all capable os scoring goals as opposed to crippling myself with one midfielder who may or may not perform to the levels he has done in the past. I`m gonna take a gamble that he wont.

Its hard to see Lampard having the season he had last year, I think there is better value out there this year. Ive no chelsea players either.
Nolan as well will find it hard to top last year and is expensive at 8.
I had both of them in my team last year but not this one.

I have ashley cole in my squad. 8m. Do you reckon if he does sign for chelsea for like 20m or whatever, his value in the game will increase??

that is where good value could come into play,if you have cole on your team and he moves to chelsea chances are he will keep more clean sheets or at least you could assume he would,i was thinking the same with chimbonda but his move to spurs seems dead in the water.

I wouldnt regard £8M for a defender good value no matter what way you look at it.

true,to be fair i never really cared too much with regards my keeper and defenders at the start of last season but i wasnt soon realising thats clean sheets can add a handy 15-20 points to your gameweek.

i wouldnt be too inclined on spending £8m on a defender jus if i was would pick chelski over arsenal, although if we are to believe jose when he says chelski are going to be more attack minded this season they might leak a few more than usual at the back.

Still not convinced about lampard. He is no way a midfield general and i can see him being over shadowed by Ballack and even Essien after his good show for ghana.
Lamps has had three long seasons without missing too many games. I don't see him keeping up at the pace he has set for the last three years.

have stuck with henry up front, flanked by ashton and doyle. The price of strikers has definitely increased on last year

Otto_the_bus_driver

Ashton is not a bad buy at all. He is young enough too isnt he? I have doyle myself but its a huge step up for him. Time will tell if he is up to it.

Hmm.... Having a serious selection dillemna mysself. Duff or Scholes? Decisions . Decisions

Duff, Provided he can stay injury free he should play more games than scholes.
