Seems a bit unfair that Valencia have to play on a fuckin plastic pitch tonight when you hear all the crap Uefa come out with about criteria for hosting one of these relatively important matches. Get a dodgy result on that stuff and you're waving goodbye to a few million and the possibility of playing the best clubs throughout the season - not small beer.

It's not like they're playing up in Garryduff. A lot of clubs all over the world use synthetic grass now but it's modernised, generally mixed with turf and approved by UEFA and FIFA.

artificial pitches are becoming better and better. i trained up in na piarsighs (i think) indoor place once and the 'grass' was unreal. i can see artificial pitches becoming more and more popular, especially and passing renowned clubs, more uniform surface. they've come a long way from luton towns piece of shit.

west hams pitch is part artificial, as is croke park (both laid by the same company) playing on it is just so much better than all grass pitches
