What the fuck are the GAA going to do about the pitch at Croker? They make millions from us from tickets and they can't water the pitch during dry weather.

When Niall Mac/Fitz slipped twice in the middle of the field on Sunday with no Waterford player near him I nearly threw my pint at the screen in frustration. I can only imagine how he felt.

They really need to do something for the final.

here here

what's the bets the get something done in time for the rugby tho.........

and while i'm at it, congratulations cork on the win on sunday. I'm sure you can appreciate how heartbreaking it was for us waterford people to see ye win, but none the less, we lost to a better team and you can't say fairer than that.

i hope ye go on to the treble. Then hopefully ye'll fucking take it down a gear or two next year!!

This rolled out sod is shit. The reason thurlas has the best playing surface on the planet is because it's a natural sod that has been grown for over a hundred years. The GAA sorted out the Pairc which was a bog up to a few years ago and now is immaculate. It's about time they got the finger out and sorted Croke Pairc.

Fair balls from a Waterford fan at last. If we do the 3 in a row maybe we will put the intermediate team up next year instead of the seniors to give ye a whack at the All Ireland.

I don't get much pleasure from seeing Waterford fans denied an All Ireland final as ye haven't had one since before any player on the current team was born.

I have to admit I felt no sympathy when I saw Mullane crying on the manager's shoulder but when they showed some of the fans in tears I did feel a little sorry for them. It must be frustrating to be that close every year.

Do you think Justin McCarthy will stay on? Its a long time to be travelling that road from Cork - even with the new Youghal bypass!

yeah, its getting beyond a joke at this stage

They'll have to get it sorted for the rugby next year, you couldn't let lads into a scrum or a maul with that grass underneath, there'd be serious injuries.

i think he may well want to stay on (justin), and the players might want him too aswell, but i really think it's time for him to go. I mean, i have huge respect for the man, and he has saved waterford hurling. But we've got up to a high enough standard, where just a few wins instead good enough anymore, that we're starting to see his real failings as a manager. Not seeing real opporunities to put playes on, or take off players when needs be. And then there's the whole brick walsh fullforward fiasco aswell.

the man's a legend, and he'll be welcome in waterford for the rest of his days, but i think maybe it's time for him to stand down. Some people are afraid that getting new management in would be like starting all over again, but look at John Allen. If you can get a good enough manager to step in, he should be able to keep the ball rolling, as well as bringing something new to the team.

but the waterford county board are notoriously short-sighted, i'd be afraid they'd just stick some local yokel in aswell and destroy our hopes altogether. We need somebody who has a vast experience of top level hurling, and possibly of winning all-irelands, and you don't need to be sherlock holmes to see that us waterford people don't have that vast experience.

to be honest I think that Niall was wearing the wrong boots for the conditions in the first half.the weather in dublin was wet on sunday which made the surface greasy, and its easy to choose the wrong boots for those kind of conditions.
You didn't see Cathal Naughton slip when he turned to put that ball over the bar.

I don't think you could grow a sod like thurles in croker because it is too enclosed, its a problem with all major stadia all over the world.Thurles is very open in comparison to Croker, the end down by the canal gets no natural sunlight, which would not be good if you were attempting to grow a natural sod in the stadium

yeah, well, i personally think ger loughnane is a bit of a tool, but donal o'grady certainly seems to be the one who everyone expects to step in (depending, obviously, on wether he wants to himself).

Loughnane would never be any good with anyone other than Clare anyway.

The reason it's so slippy is because in Croker there is plastic mixed with the grass. It's great if you like playing on a carpet like surface but any drop of water ruins it.
