Tottenham Hotspur new boy Didier Zokora has his sights set on becoming the latest in the line of great Premiership holding midfielders.
The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international impressed at this summer's World Cup in Germany and earned a lucrative move to White Hart Lane at the same time.
Zokora comes into Spurs' ranks to replace the departed Michael Carrick, who moved to Manchester United last week, but the player hopes to prove himself more than just an adequate stand-in at his new club.
"Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira are the perfect examples of the star players that have played in The Premiership over the years," Zokora told the Sun.
"That is what I really want to be part of because the holding midfield is also my role, and I believe it to be very important because I can win the ball, pass it, tackle and this is vital to the balance of any team."
He will get his first chance to stake his claim for glory in the first game of the new season at Bolton Wanderers live on Prem Plus on August 19.
