Amazing there's no thread on it. Does it matter a shit any more?

Was down at it today. As good a performance out of the Cork lads as I could have expected. Scrapped for everything until Kerry started getting on top early in the second half. Wasn't surprised to see your man Spillane (where's he from?) get MOTM. Had agreed this with a few fellas in the terrace below me just before we belted off to the car to catch the world cup final.

Logic would dictate that the underdogs had lost their one chance at toppling the superpower. I don't think so somehow. There was a more consistent, cohesive look about this Cork team, and, apart from a ten minute spell early in the second half, they (finally) weren't afraid to take the ball on, send runners into the opposition half, and support the man in possession.

Tony Davis seemed to be ecstatic altogether though, and had almost given us the replay before it had even started. Not a good sign.

Sorry 'bout that. Couldn't find the thread.

Thought twas a fair result overall. The last 'point' wasn't a point, as the TV highlights showed. There was another Masters one during the first half that was disputed too. Also thought the Kerry sending off was very harsh. Apart from that, the ref was shocking overall.

There were 26,000 at it (it looked a lot more) and Cork were outnumbered, but not by as much as I thought they'd be. And we made a lot more noise than the Kerry crowd. Fuckers.
