So I was watching the World Cup final post game coverage a while ago here in the U.S. and just before the presentation the announcer said that apparently the Italian Coach said he is quitting and taking over as the assistant at United where he will remain until Ferguson steps aside. Awesome move for the club but i can't find anything on this story elsewhere. If it's true then how did the Yank get the scoop?

Garth Crooks asked Lippi exactly that question yesterday and Lippi said that regardless of what he decides to do next season, he definitely won't be at United.

heard that on ESPN aswell, god that commentary is annoying! but I wouldnt read too much into it,the way I heard it, it sounded like speculation, think it was Eric Wynalda who said it. Whats worrying me is that Uniteds transfer activity this summer seems to be all out, and nothing coming in.

Harkes is decent. Tommy Smith is annoying at first but grows on you once you've been living here a while. Alexi Lalas is a right langer and Balboa is atrocious and looks fodder for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In the studio though i was surprised that Julie Foudie was pretty good while i think Wynalda has been one of the best pundits i've seen in any sport in any country. Really came into his own ripping the U.S. team and coaching staff for their poor performances. You wouldn't see England's greatest striker doing the same. -AmadeusDC-

Like a bad fungus. Had to put up with him for Champions League coverage last season. God he's a disgrace. Realyly couldn't stand him. Anyone that uses the term 'onionbag' should be shot imstamtly.
