United V Reading on New Years Eve would be a nice game to go to see, what with the day off next day, and Stevie Coppell returning to Old Trafford, and of course the Doyler.

Not bad
It would be nice to send City back down to where they belong on the second last day of the season
Pretty similar scenario for the top two again, Old Trafford in November and Stambord Bridge in April

I'd imagine that once the TV Executives at Sky have looked at this there will be a lot of chopping and changing: for example there is no way that the United V Liverpool game scheduled for 3:00PM on the 21st of October will go ahead at that time. It will either be 12:00 noon, or 5:15, or even possibly moved to Sunday at 4:00.

i wouldn't think there will be too much changing, sky have a direct input on the fixtures when they are compiled at the start. the most movement you will see is a few time changes or a saturday game changed to monday

No they haven't. The Premier League draws up the fixtures list and then passes it to Sky. Sky will have seen it for the first time this morning. They will now request certain matches in line with the packages they have bought.

They have until next week to finalise things.

The matches will more then likely still take place on the weekends mentioned, but some of them will be moved around to facilitate Sky. This is what makes it difficult for fans to book flights and stuff.

fair enough, i was always led to believe that was the way. going to be going to all the london based west ham games anyway, nopefully to the games further afield too, finances depending, might save for a UEFA cup trip

liverpool's last 7 games of the season look straightforward enough, if they're in a good position come easter then we might have a daycent run-in

september could be tough tho', still gotta play them all at some stage

The only fans capable of being confident of a title run is Chelsea.

7/8?

Sure, they were convinced Mark Wright was going to lead them to greatness at one stage.

16 years is a long time for the most successful club in England to go without a title isn't it?

Blah, blah, blah.

This is all horseshit and every other club except Chelsea is nothing but an also ran. There has been no competition whatsoever recently and anyone arguing the toss over the one point separating Man U and Liverpool this season is missing the rather large point.

Semantics.

Don't worry though boys, the EU will come save us from Chelsea soon enough. Go bureaucracy.

I dunno, I always like to think of that stat that Utd were the best supported team in England the year they were relegated. Doing your time as an unsuccessful club is a rite of passage for fans. It's often said that those of us Utd fans who have never known anything but trophies every season or every other season have no real appreciation of the succes..

I still remember the feeling of emptiness as I walked up the hill to school in Glasheen NS, (the steep hill from Glasheen Road side, not Lima Lawn) the monday morning after United got relegated.

I was devastated, I couldn't believe it had actually happened.

There'll be little kids in Milan and Turin feeling much the same within a few weeks.

Incidentally, TG4 should get the rights to those Serie B games now, could be quite entertaining.
