Any recommendations for a sun holiday destination in august? Not looking for much - sun, sea, sand & loose ladies would suffice.

Was tempted to look into Ibiza, is it over-hyped or worth a visit (or both)?

i'd recommend Ibiza, though it's defo over-hyped in some areas, i.e. big clubs etc. rediculous booze prices. Imo, they all pale into insignificance when compared to the beach club bora bora, cracking sound system, up for it crowd, good range of tunes, not bad booze prices, (sangria) etc; iconic location, direct flight path of incoming jets, the club indoors is free too, starts at midnight, nice podiums for a bit of wild acitivity. Worth the trip if only for this. Hope this helps!

Chad or Niger have a lot of sun at this time of the year. But sun is overrated, 95 F here today!

Yes. I've been 3 times and would go again. Just cos Sky One showed the shite parts. That'd be like them going to Havana Browns, showing it on tv and everyone thinking that's all there is to Cork.

Spent two weeks in Aiya Napa back in 2000. Had to hire a car and spent much of the time driving around the island. Aiya Napa was a shithole and like you said very expensive.
I changed my money to sterling travellers cheques and when exchanging 100 sterling i ended up getting around 70 cypriot pounds. It still cost three our four quid for a pint. Scandalous, food was crap and people unfriendly.

I did get to see some other resorts on the island which looked somewhat cleaner as less hussle bussle so maybe its just Aiya Napa (not sure though).

Took that four night trip to Israel & Egypt which broke up the holiday a little and was about the only thing i enjoyed.

Palma Nova best holiday I've ever had great pubs/clubs, hot women, fantastic cheap food/drink, 5 minute walk from Magalluf and 10 minute taxi spin (E6-7 to Santa Ponsa if you fancy a night out there.

Has anybody been to Turkey. I am off there with 2 other friends in July. Kusadasi is the place i am going to. Cheap holiday as one of the buddy's family has an apartment there.

I'd say go to Ibiza once to cross it off your list, make up your own mind from the experience, etc. It seems people either love or hate it.
I worked there for what seemed like a very long summer, an I probably wouldn't go back, got a bit sick of it.

Yea I've been to Kusadasi......it was ok. I preferred Greece to be honest.
Try to do some of the side trips like Ephesus and Istanbul.

try zakynthos in the greek islands . been twice . stay in kalamaki which is a grand relaxing spot and take a taxi to laganas in the evening for all the clubs.

Definitely Brazil, u can fly to Rio from London for just over 500 euro rtn. Plus there's only a 3 hour time difference so if u get an over-night flight there's no jet lag....
