When I read 'Last Man Standing' the book about hurling goalkeepers I just felt sorry for him - he's a bit of a tragic figure and he doesn't make it easy for himself with his antics.
Hurling is everything to him and when he retires you'd worry about him - I think he trains UL now or something. GAA fans can be bigger cunts than soccer fans and the shit he had to put up with about his marriage breakdown from "fans" is disgraceful. A lot of the shit he took was at club games in Clare and he singles out Tipp fans as well. At least soccer players get paid to take abuse.
Great save yesterday - without his influence Clare would be whipped by everyone in Munster.

Agree on this, i don't mind it to an extent but it got to personal. He's still only an amateur. He actually took it quite well and was laughing about it when he drove the ball wide after winning the free off deane. There were a lot of young fellas who were paralytic coming into the ground. I think you'll find the word "Ring" was part of Cork hurling folklore for years. I was too young to see him play, but I did have the honour of listening to him speak when he visited our school shortly before his death. The word "legend" is over used nowadays, but it definitely applied to him.

Are you honestly saying that people are singing the song now because it was used on a documentary in 1978? How many people on the terrace the other day would remember that?
It fused it's way in because Cash is cool at the moment. Shame so many people weren't into his music when he was alive. I hope, like "Rebel Army" and "Who Are Ya", that it was a once off.

I was brought up on Johnny Cash, the aul fella is a huge fan (pity he was also a devotee of Big Tom and the Mainliners...). Ghost Riders used to scare the shit out of me as a smallie

Some of the muppets I passed were right clowns alright. Falling drunk about the place and God forbid if you didn't join in with their songs.

it was funny aswell at one stage when the crowd were going through the usual Daaaavy Daaaavy and as he took his puck out the big roar of whoaaaaaaa put him off(well maybe not) and it went out...but to put it short, he ran back laughing at the cork fans. So at least he takes the abuse with a pinch of salt.
Have you been attending Tony Cascarino's workshop on mangling metaphors?

Hey, you, ya can't say Christy Ring and "me hole" in the same sentence. Take it back.
Not even if it was to say 'There are some folk who think DJ can be placed up there alongside Christy; and to them I say: "Me hole!"'
