View Full Version : This Board is going seriously downhill
On the eve of a weekend in which a team that truly represents Cork is playing and barely a word about it.
The morons are taking over.
Twats/"new age" pseudo Munster supporters with a very limited knowledge of any Sport. If they slung their hooks, and did one, this board would be a healthier place.
Cue:- ''you see, this is my point.....''
blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Fuck OFF
Well, you and lamps are responsible for a lot of that in fairness. most of the rugby threads were started by ye.
And there's been a few threads about the hurling.
FYI I've started one rugby thread in about three weeks, and haven't been posting much lately.

If you set out to piss just about everyone off, you can't come crying when everyone pisses off.

i think you'll find that we are responsible for fostering a coherent and viable alternative the foam hand waving imbecile munster jock. and there's now many more than just POL and I; Kola, FatTom, MON and more have also taken up the good fight. This new Smokey fella has great potential too.
What bullshit, the implication here is that to question the rugby charade is to bring the board into disrepute. Get over over yourselfs. Only for the SFI this place would a bastion of banality and acceptance

No the implication is that by constantly harping on about the same stupid argument, for months on end you will eventually piss everyone off.
Just let it go.

This board is infested with cheap imitation contributors, we want sterling debate, is that too much to ask for? is it I ask?

I don't post much in the sports forum, I can't take the petty squabbles. Its boring most of the time with the same arguments. Why can't people accept that people like different sports. Sure there are plenty of bandwagon supporters for every sport but thats life.

To be perfectly honest it's the likes of that above that has this place in ruins. One line answers to agree with something someone else has said. I've seen nothing of value contributed, nothing to stir up debate. The constant threads of "Rugby is great/Rugby is shite" are galling too, especially for someone like myself who takes very little interest in rugby. It's the new Liverpool/United now.

In a way, the pattern of this thread is symbolic of the malaise. The SFI point a few relevant, interesting ideas, and as sometimes we do introduce a subtle humourous twist. i.e SFI says NO.
Those who 2 brain cells to rub together, would probably see this, smirk even, and think no more. Yet suddenly we get a barrage of idiots pouring in (carmona, nimic, poxoi d) thinking eureka, proclaiming paisley comparisons thinking the SFI have finally slipped up when in fact they only end up exposing themselves as the limited half-wits we toy with on a regular basis.

awww poor POL and lamps are getting upset because the sport they follow is taking a backseat to the most succesfull sport in ireland at the moment and they are feeling left out, really when an irish club or the national side do something of note in football then it will be your time-maybe its because ye know football in ireland will never get to the height rugby has in ireland.
my sympathies go out to the genuine cork city, cobh ramblers and other IRISH club sides who have to live with the knowledge that they will never get the investment they need because the likes of POL and lamps go off and support teams that aren't irish
at least in rugby we support where we're from or have a genuine affiliation to.

Yeah, I'm not going to argue that there was a lot new looking jerseys around this year for munster games. but what harm? they're getting interested in sport, which despite the GAA fears must have some knock on effect on other sports.
If these lads stop spouting shite in the pubs about english club teams they're semi-bothered about, and start paying attention to a home team in rugby, maybe they'll get off their arses and check out a city game, or maybe check out Cork hurlers before it gets to september...
There's cachet in having the old jersey in every sport, in knowing the team backwards, in having been there for the long haul. But it's only worth what you think it's worth. Putting aside the fact that this argument is just a wind up to pass the time in a boring job for you, and taking your argument seriously, I'd say you'd be the sort who'd only allow anyone new to get in on a team if they were your wee son and you were bringing them to matches - otherwise members only...
