the betting syndicate theory is an interesting one, ..and a lot more plausible than an Arsenal fan.

If they find traces of something they'll have no choice

surely if the spurs game IS replayed (and i doubt it will be), then surely the arsenal game would have to be replayed as well so that both sides kick off at the same time?

Let's say Barcelona beats Arsenal .... a playoff between Arsenal and Spurs wouldn't be a bad idea. All depends on the investigation report I suppose.

why dont they ask for a replay of the game they won this season one nil that was an offside goal? or hows about the one where they got the spotter and it wasnt and they won 2-1...

or how about they just fuck off and accept they couldnt finish ahead of a piss poor arsenal team...

well sue if we finish fourth and we dont get in,
well now sue cause we didnt finish fourth and its all someone elses fault.
they had a perfectly fit danny murphy on the bench!!!!
they werent that sick.

i didnt see no one shit on the pitch....

and any incompetant club that lets an external party cook for them deserves the shits....
i know chelsea, arsenal, newcastle all have their own crew to cook.
why trust a hotel who could dope you?

fuckin incompetant cunts....

replay away....still wont change the barca/arsenal result.

Also west ham would have to go along with it. What if Araon Lennon or Jenas got injured in the replay. When would the match take place?

I'm sure the investigation will drag on. Maybe have the Arsenal/Spurs playoff in August i.e. timed with the 2nd round so you wouldn't disrupt anybody else. By then we won't care anymore as Cork City will be the team to watch.

ok then here's a hypothetical, say spurs do get a replay? what about the fans having to fork out for a ticket again? they won't be happy at all. and if they do have a replay who is going to pay my, and all the other staff members wages? why should west ham or the loyal fans lose out?if tottenham do get a replay they should be forced to pay for the fans that would have to pay otherwise and they should be forced to pay the wages of the staff. they can claim that off the hotel in question for all i care. also why should west ham lose out in the league table? i'm delighted that we are the highest finishing newcomers, if we did lose the game then why should that be taken away from us? we bloody deserve it. also if a player gets injured from west ham, why should west ham have to pay the medical expenses to look after a player?

they weren't good enough to beat us this year neither were a shit arsenal team (who personally i hate more then any team in the world bar rangers and leicester rugby) so fuck the lot of them, let tottenham play arsenal for it and leave west ham out of it

even if tottenham were to get a replay and win id imagine arsenal would go to the courts then. tis a vicious cirlce.

twud set a dangerous precident , similar to players/clubs being liable for bad tackles

Definitely.

Spurs should just let it go. They lost to worse teams than the Hammers this season, so there was no guarantee that they were going to win hte game anyway.

when they had a fit danny murphy on the bench and didnt play him, they lost any chance of an appeal

Once they fulfilled the fixture they lost any chance of a replay.

Sure didnt boro have a similar situation a couple a years ago , they didnt fulfill the fixture and they were deducted points.

Spurs are doing the right thing for 2 reasons.

1. for any legal action against the hotel, they would have had to have gone through due process with the Premier League.

2. For future references, ..as there is a grey area in the rules, in the same way there was a grey area in the Champions League rules last year regarding 5th place winners. That was cleared up, and so should this.

say for example, in a future situation, a far east betting syndicate have a shitload of cash riding on Arsenal qualifying for the CL, they arrange for an opposition team to go down with mass case of food poisoning on the morning of the match. It has to be clear in such a case what the PL should do, to avoid match tampering. In such a situation the obvious thing to do would be to put back both teams games 24 hours.

The rules have to clear on a malicous example such as this, and also in a case where just a bunch of players all have a cold or whatever. Presently the rules leave it to the descretion of the PL to decide whether a match can be put back or not.
Middlesborough were rightly punished a few years back when they failed to play based on multiple player injuries, ....it's a regular hazard of the job.

..having said that, they are likely to fail in their appeal unless tampering is proved. but, it is still necessary to ask the question.
