Born here, grew up in the States (I think). Plays in garbage time for the Suns. Had most of a season with Orlando a couple of years ago. Only Irish born person ever to play in the NBA (I think, again).

No, there aren't. Argentina were the last Olympic champions, and at the time they had 1 NBA player (Manu Ginobili). There's now 3 Argentine's in the NBA. So if we had three or four, we'd be one of the best basketball countries in the world. I can assure you that this is not the case.

I've checked by the way, and according to nba.com, Pat Burke is the first Irish born NBA player.

True, Bowdler played 3 seasons with Atlanta as a backup center. Marty Conlon bounced around for 8 or 9 years. Neither are in the NBA now though. Is Conlon still on the Irish team? He must be nearly 40 at this stage.

Anyone remember 'Wilk the Silk'. Best U15 player in Cork by his own admission. Never made it to the NBA. Tragic story.
