A repeat of the Ger Loughnane one. Anyone see it, best bit of TV on in ages. What an age for hurling, Clare,Offaly,Wexford and Limerick all slogging it out to be top dogs. Hot summer days, huge crowds, epic games every year.
Fantastic stuff

didn't see it last night but saw it previously. The mid 90's was a golden era for hurling.Had the pleasure to attend the 97 munster final down the park, great game, will never forget Leahy missing the goal chance at the end, you'd have put your house on him finishing it.

they showed that last night, he totally scuffed it, for such a great player it was a shocker, and to repeat the mistake in the final was even worse

That Ciaran Carey point in 96 for Limerick against Clare gets better every time I see it, pure class, I was at that Munster final in 97 aswell, unbelievable atmosphere there that day, I thought the place would explode when Clare got that goal, and of course Daly's speech after it. A golden age, what ever you think about Clare they really livened things up, looking at the start of the 98 Munster final, mad times....

He scuffed the Munster final shot, but the one in the All Ireland was a great save from the ferret, a low hard shot bounced off the ground, nearly impossible to save

true, true, it was great chance all the same.
I must say that that programe brought a little gladness to mo chroi. the atmosphere, the summer sunshine, the mixed terraces together with their flags. having had just watched bits and pieces of the arsenal/pompey, boro/charlton and spanish cup final, i think it really showed the superiority of hurling over soccer and rugby, not only the actual product of the game itself but in everything associated with it. the big day out, opposing fans all drinkning together before and after the game, the sheer skill level of amatuers, the intesity and honesty of the players, the sense of pride in your own. just brilliant.

Couldn't agree more. The remarkable about Clare's 95 All-Ireland was that the only forward playing well on the way to Croker ( Jamesy ) had a poor game on final day.Passion and athleticism drove them on.

whilst driving home yesterday, i was thinking did any team ever have more characaters than that clare one. you had the ferret, the lohans, seanie mac, anthony daly, ollie baker, colin lynch, jamsie, pj o connell, the sparrow and to top it off psycho ger for manager. hardly a helmet amongst them either.
