Some work that I thought I'd be running with and leading on and then this manager (not mine) hires a new guy and puts him in and says that he is going to lead on this governance work and that I'll work with him and feed into him big parts of it.

This manager then said he felt like I was sitting on it a bit and he didn't see any plans but he didn't exactly come and tell me what he was expecting until we had a candid conversation about it this afternoon. He is one of those managers who likes people to take initiative, which I do, but I need guidance as to what he wants. I raised this but it seems the wheels have been set in motion now.

I;m just a bit pissed off cos this has kinda been mine for a while but seems like its been taken off me and I'm getting a pat on the head to say 'don't worry love, you can still contribute'

pumping iron a week ago...wasn't lifting anything heavy... just doing some upright barbell rows and on about 2nd rep i felt a twang in my back... it wasn't too sore... gave it a couple of days rest... then went for a run towards the end of last week and obviously aggrevated it.... woke up next morning and was barely able to move... went up to docty...looks like i'll live but have to take it easy for a few weeks.
