i would suggest not peeling or topping and tailing the carrot.... but maybe remove a bit of the stalk...just so you don't find bits of it in your pockets for the following few weeks.

i think if you peeled it that it would dry out too quickly. by all means - give it a good scrub in the sink to remove any dirt and other stuff.

agree completely - having little pre-chopped batons would be stupid. would look like you just bought a packet of pre chopped carrot batons from m&s.
