LONDON, March 14 (Reuters) - UEFA president Lennart Johansson believes Scotland, Ireland and Wales should make a joint bid to host the European championship.

"I think it's a good idea," Johansson told the BBC's website on Tuesday. "They have the same culture, understand each other and travelling is easy between countries. So why not?"

Wales, which boasts Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, would be joining forces with two countries who made an unsuccessful bid to co-host Euro 2008, which went to Switzerland and Austria. The next European championship will be in 2012.

Joint bids have become increasingly popular in international football, with the Netherlands and Belgium having co-hosted Euro 2000 and South Korea and Japan holding the 2002 World Cup finals.

Johansson also indicated the Millennium Stadium could be chosen as the venue for a future Champions League or UEFA Cup final, saying: "I'm sure it will be considered to host a final."

3 of them qualifying automatically would be ridiculous....and seriously piss off the rest of Europe. it could actually diminish the competition.....unwo rkable in reality I'd say.....chances are that none of them may actually qualify if they had to compete in the qualifying groups so this brings the validity of a bid into further doubt!!!!

However, we'll just have to wait and see I suppose...Stan and Bobby may make us World Champions in 2010 !!!!

*Waking up* *Yawn* *Nice dream*
