View Full Version : Real Arse
for a soccer game it was fairly enjoyable, Delighted to see Arsenal getting through – a quality side when the game is about football. They are going to find it increasingly difficult to do well in the Premiership with mucksavage teams like Bolton, Birmingham, Man Utd, Blackburn etc going out to kick seven shades of sh1t out of them, and getting no protection whatsoever from referees because they don’t field English players.
Tough time for Sky Sports on the Arsenal game, clearly wanting Real Madrid to win to have an English player left in the QF’s but conscious of their Arsenal viewers.

Strangely though in both ties there was only one goal.
Who'd have thought?

A very entertaining 0-0 draw!high tempo, great attacking play from both sides, and to quote Johnny Giles "players were actually able to pass the ball" as apposed to the dross served up in anfield.
Wouldnt be a fan of Lehmann normally but that save from Raul was excellent. Europe suits the gunners, more time, more space for the likes of Flamini and Fabregas to play.Reyes could well have had a hatrick last night.
Well done the gooners

I think last night's game was an advert for a European Super League. We should have games like that every week, watching the best players in Europe playing in a sporting fashion.
Lets get things in perspective here
1. Arsenal beat possibly the worst Madrid team in decades.
2. Only for Raul missing a sitter, they were facing Extra Time, and they proably would have choked
3. Barca, Milan, Juve and Lypon would roast a team that gets bullied by Bolton. Madrids problem was that they played with 4 has beens, defenders who can't defend and no midfield. Arsenal will never have it his easy again, yet could still only score 1 goal over 2 legs

I heard Madrid brought on a fella with no legs at some stage during the second half. I don't know though, I didn't watch it.

Quality game, just like the first leg
Arsenal are the only Premiership team to go through which is great becasue the rest were like watching paint dry i the Champions League (United are playing a bit better now but in the group stages they were dire and negative)
Fair play to the Arse, still can't see them going all the way though but you never know

Worst Madrid team in decades-doubt that very much.
Reyes also missed a sitter and there were other good Arsenal chances too.
Juve barely got through against a very average Werder Bremen team,in reality they should probably be out.Juve are only still there due to a shocking goalkeeping mistake.Milan would probably actually struggle against a team like Bolton. They have struggled in Seria A this season, lost 5 times and against some very average opponents.

I think Spurs will do well to keep 4th place
crucial game this week against Chelsea and a much tougher run in than Arsenal, who need to get something off Liverpool for their sake

i was sick of hearing that last year with the pool too.
theres only two teams capable of beating arsenal in the next round. acmilan and villareal.
barcelona would be my ideal tie.

It's a personal view
I think a tough team will beat them (like Milan)
On the other hand the British media et al are all saying that Arsenal will do a Liverpool and a Porto
My own feeling is that one of the big guns like Barca or Milan are overdue a victory but 8 to 1 on Arsenal is very good
Still, for a team who has never got to even a semi-final in this competition to be so confident is dangerous

Arse V Barca would be some game. I wouldn't share Naff's enthusiasm though. Barca have vulnerabilities but I wouldn't think that the Arse are set up to take advantage of them. And if the rookies are still playing the full back roles they would be in for a hard night. Arsenal are a very good footballing side but Barca are a better one IMO.

This from the know nothing who backed Liverpool to retain the trophy.
Put your money on Arsenal lads, If POL writes em off they're surely gonna win it.

Well he also told me he was thought Arse would finish second after Liverpool lost at charlton but to be fair that was before Arse lost at Anfield
And he's right about Barca, that type of team would suit Wengers boys

hehe, this from the coward who wouldn't even venture a guess as to who would win in case he made an even bigger tool of himself.
