it's a bit odd that chelsea are so high up. Crowds aren't huge, can't imagine merchandise would be a big earner. Prize money was good i suppose but still.

Chelsea don't get huge crowds but they still have the biggest stadium in London if i'm not mistaken and tickets at the Bridge are also very costly. An addition also have a TV channel, new sponsorship deal, new shirt deal, TV rights for going so far in almost every competition. Another thing is that since they've been successful you see loads of Chelsea shirts and merchandise not just at home but all around the world. I hear they are selling a lot in Asia and i see as many Chelsea jerseys as any other out here in the states. Could be another reason they are so high.
The funniest thing is that Everton and Man City are higher than Valencia and Lazio. Whatever about Valencia, Lazio used to be throwing 20 and 30 million pounds (Crespo, Lopez etc.) around all the time for players. Everton were signing Kilbane at the same point. Mad. -AmadeusDC-
