A young Blues Reserves side suffered their heaviest defeat of the season
against Manchester United's second string at St Andrew's on Tuesday night.

The Barclays Premier Reserves League (north) leaders were three goals up by
half-time courtesy of goals from Giuseppe Rossi, the Italian striker
netting on 14 and 29 minutes, and Darron Gibson. Rene Meulensteen's side
extended their lead twenty minutes into the second period when Rossi scored
his third and United's fourth.

Blues: Legzdins, Mark Hall, Sadler, Oji, Campion, Alsop, Birley, Hojsted,
Allen, Wright, Motteram.
Subs: Hinks, Wilson, Davis, Johnson, Green.

Manchester United: Steele, Bardsley, K Lee, M Howard, Piqu?, Gibson,
Neumayr, R Jones, Campbell, Rossi, Solskjaer.
Subs: Marsh, Zieler, Cathcart, Rose, Moran.

Watched it, the Irish lad Gibson looks a different class. Two-footed, pegging 30-40 yard passes around the field and great awareness. He's only 17/18 but i could see him playing for Ireland by the time the next WC qualifiers come around if he keeps up his current rate of progress.

I think Gibson would say he is from DERRY, hence he's declared for the Republic, if you catch my drift.

And he's fucking class, mark my words. Only a worrying resemblance in gait to that fuckwith O'Shea can stand in his way. The cherry on the icing on the cake was the goal he walloped in on the half volley with his weaker foot from outside the box. To be honest, it's hard to judge from reserve team football but it's a wonder the likes of himself and Richie Jones don't get a nod ahead of wasters like Smith and O'Shea for a central midfield slot. The only thing Fletcher would have on them is a bit more experience, otherwise they look much the better prospects.
