Well how do people think this will go.

Arsenal's Defence has been shocking but the pool don't have much upfront to trouble them.

I fancy Arsenal to sneak it by a brace from Henry.

It's a tough one to call. Both teams have been poor enough recently.

I reckon a repeat of Robbies record quickest hat-trick could be on the cards!!

We're due a good game amongst the top teams at least once this year

Fowler to score in a 3-2 win for the Reds

We've played some good games against the other top teams this year but results haven't gone our way.

This is a tough one to call, neither team in sparkling form. Henry has yet to fully sparkle in recent weeks, both Gerrard & Alonso blatantly require a rest but neither will realistically want to sit out this game - although if it were up to me I'd rest Xabi tonight & bring in Hamann who showed a cool head when others around him were losing their on that bog called the JJB.

With United and Benfica (2 bigger games than tonight's) coming up on the horizon I think Rafa needs to give Xabi a break. He has looked dead on his feet at times in recent weeks and his passing is not up to his usual lofty standards.

Harry Kewell is a due a goal and generally performs well against the gunners, a few quid on him to score mightn't be a bad punt.

A draw won't be a great result for either side but would probably suit Liverpool marginally better as it helps to rule out the possibility of them getting gazumped for 4th place by Arsenal (unlikely but always possible).

Wenger's raggle-taggle bunch need to start making ground on Spurs quickly but I truly hope they don't begin doing this at anfield tonight.

Can't play Hamman and Sissoko together in the middle. Liverpool would be very hard to break down, but Hamann doesn't have the ability to push a team forward anymore, and the front 2 would get absolutely no one coming from midfield to make the extra man. That means Gerrard and Kewell trying to pick out 2 heavily marked men all night. It also means Gerrard will end up floating even more infield and any Liverpool width would vanish. The inability to push forward would probably mean Arsenal would have a lot of possession, and chances are at some stage Henry or someone will catch you.

Just google bbc sport.

I'd say it'll most probably be a boring nil-niller. Liverpool have a great defence, but are sahit up-front. Arsenal are shite at the back and their away form is awful, so I don't think they'll be doing much attacking.

However, if anyone's going to win it, it will be Liverpool (1-0).

Cheers, i had found it anyway though........ ya to be honest i'm hoping for the 0:0. Liverpool's defence is excellent and hopefully they'll remain brutal in front of goal. If they do score then i'll have to rely on Henry or Pires as usual especially with RVP injured.

I also have Palace and Norwich to win tonight and Clinton has knocked one in after 3 minutes!! Class. -AmadeusDC-

That might be the worst Arsenal Performance I have seen
so many misplaced passes , Henry did so much clapping he shudda sat in the Kop.

Sissoko was immense again in midfielf , I just heard he got the same rating as ljunberg in the Sun which is laughable

thought we were destined for a 0-0 but thankfully Luis popped up with the winner , which I think was fully deserved

problems with the strikers are well doumented by now , Morientes had 4 chances , shudda taken 1 at least

Wouldn't expect anything more from that rag.

Liverpool bossed & bullied Arsenal into submission last night. The only thing that kept it a contest was liverpool's well-documented lack of clinical finishing.

Sissoko had another stormer in the centre. His work-rate, tackling and enthusiasm are a joy to watch. He tried to keep his passing a bit more simple that usual and it paid off.

All credit to Garcia, he's far from fully fit but goals seem to gravitate to the lad. If he's not creating them he's sniffing them out. He is also one of the few players in our current squad who are pro-active in anticipating rebounds from shots. He was rewarded for taking the chance and following in Didi's shot and finished it well, it was a tight angle & there was still a lot to do to convert that into the winner.

Another 80 minutes in the bank for Robbie (who played well and was unlucky to be foiled by a great Lehman save after a magnificent, classic fowler first touch and snap shot).

This should be a big wake-up call for Wenger. His team were out-fought, out-thought and out-classed. He's a fabulous manager imho but I feel he has changed too much too soon and its clear to see that his team lack any leadership. Will the house of cards fall down if Arsenal fail to make the CL next year & Henry packs his bags?

Henry looked off his game last night. Great performance by the Pool but the same faults were there again. Ye could have been caught on the hop with those two offside decisions and it would have been a massive injustice to a great performance. Morenties is awful, I'd say he'll be packing his bags in the Summer - he just hasn't clicked.

Ye didn't create enough in the first half again despite totally dominating proceedings but I thought they played great soccer last night.

Gerrard is wasted on the right, ye need a winger there badly but the way Sissoko is palying its gonna be hard drop him. Brilliant last night.

At the same time I don't think I have ever seen Arsenal and expecially Henry as bad.

I thought Ljunberg should have been taken off after 20 minutes - pathetic.

It was a typical game between two also rans with nothing but a champions league place next year to play for. It started brightly but soon degenerated into a boring struggle which only served to prove just how far away from Chelsea these two clubs are. Neither looked like a cohesive unit, and the lack of a striker for Liverpool in particular can now be seen as the actions of a club bereft of any forward planning. Benitez should have moved heaven and earth to get Owen, the return of Fowler is no substitute for the loss of Owen to Newcastle.

Thierry Henry looked as if he was preoccupied elsewhere, and surely now he is destined for Barcelona in the summer. I know Arsenal had major injury problems but both of these sides will have to raise their game significantly if they are to hope to win against Benfica and Real Madrid. Hopefully these two defensive minded English sides will be eliminated from the CL at the next round and we can luxuriate in some good exciting top class football amongst Europes elite clubs without the English clubs spoiling tactics to whet our appetities for the world cup in the summer.

What game were you watching - bar end product Liverpool played excellent soccer and totally dictated the game against one of the Premiership's better teams.

They were a superb Unit in defence and attack. They are lacking a striker or 3fair enough.
Owen has had massive injury problems, no one knows what sort of impact he might have had.
I've been critical of Liverpools style on here before but I thought they played fantastic last night.

Henry does look like his mind is elsewhere, I don't think anyone could call Arsenal defensive - last night they were just shit.
AS for defensive teams you won't find many more defensive than Benfica.

Morientes has to go.

He's a fucking disaster. Thought the rest of the team played really well, but in fairness, Arsenal were completely shit. I agree with Teknique, that's probably the worst arsenal performance I've seen since George Graham was in charge.

Still though, it was a badly needed win for Liverpool. Hopefully it signals the end of the mid-season lull just in time for the CL. Don't know where the goals are going to come from though. Is Fowler eligible for the CL??? I'm assuming that he is.........

Freddie Ljungberg has admitted that Arsenal have become too scared to play the type of football that made them such a force in recent seasons.

The Gunners' disappointing campaign continued with a 1-0 defeat at Liverpool on Tuesday, leaving Arsenal in serious danger of missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification.

Opposition teams have successfully employed physical tactics against them, and Swedish midfielder Ljungberg is aware that they have been knocked out of their stride.

"We know teams will try to play a physical game against us, with a lot of long balls like Liverpool did," he acknowledged. "But it's our responsibility to try to get the ball down and play with it.

"Unfortunately, I think we have maybe become a bit scared of holding the ball and that means we end up kicking it long as well.

"It's not our way of playing and not our strength, if we're honest. It's not a good thing for us to end up playing like that.

"If people say we're not the team we were, it's a valid point."
