Playing for my club in Killarney at the weekend and we had two foreign players on our team - Max (Italian) and Vlad (whos Slovakian I Think).
Well Max thread Vlad through, he cuts it back and gets clipped and goes down.
Ref gives a penalty.
Cue abuse from the away team, Listowel, -
"why don't you fuck off back to your own country"
etc

i would be correct in saying that incident happened in England...
that's disgusting... but the Brit are always at it with us Paddy's.
and then we do the same to foreigners here....

sure you see it here between the GAA and rugby people...
its inbred in the gaa sure they still call it a foreign sport...

One of those things unfortunately...I used to get called paddy f'ing this and f'ing that all the time when i played rugby or footie over in UK!!!!
It exists here too, especially now with the influx of new nationalities.....mi nd you the day when an Irish national soccer team has a midfield with the names of .......Amokachi, Kracyz, Dostoevsky and Kanu....might make it less of an issue!!!! that day may not be too far away!!!

Apparently I was "betraying our country's heritage2 when I picked rugby over GAA.
which was a little suprising as I hadn't gotten a game for Macroom Under 14s for 2 years, yet at the same time, was being given a lift by my coach (who lived in Ballincollig) in and out of Cork for rugby matches...
It's part of Ireland now, we'll have to grow up quick.

If your parents were born before 1949, you can go get your UK passport and represent them at some form of sporting even if you wish.
