I had to reboot my laptop. So when I re-installed xp I was prompted to verify my version by sending my product key. Problem is when I send the key, message returns saying I've mistyped it. My thoughts are that since I bought the laptop second hand, xp was already verified. Once you verify xp does that mean you can't do it again? Is there a way round this?

You can verify the same code twice as long as its used on the same PC. After a re-install the same old code should work perfectly. Double check that you did actually type it correctly, and if youre still having trouble I think Microsoft have a freephone Irish number that you can call about verification issues.

Isn't MS windows licence non-transferable, so legally,
you bought the laptop but are not entitled to buy his version of windows.
Which, is probably not a legit copy anyway...
