As y'all are mostly Corkonians and other.....
Would you despise Dublin or Meath the more....
(It comes into context as the two play on Sunday - I wonder who the neutral would cheer less against).

Jesus it's not even a contest. 88 still rankles but at least Meath has........no Dubs.

even in the late 80's/early 90's, i would cheer on meath against dublin. i would also cheeer on meath against kerry. it was great to see them anihalate Kerry a few years back. in fact it was Meath who probably planted that first seed of doubt that that particular Kerry side were bottlers when ever someone put it up to them physically

surely there should be an "equal hate" choice

Dublin were always too shite to hate when Cork were good, so it has to be Meath. Mick Lyons, McEntee, Colm Coyle et al will always be hated in my household.

I had considered adding the 'hate both equally' option but that would be the most chosen option and could skew the votes!!
And on the topic of not hating Meath as much as there are no Dubs there - I wish that were the case.
South Meath (Ratoath, D'shaughlin, Dunboyne) is overrun with Dubs, and the East coast all up to Drogheda has become 'infested'.
(Excuse the terms!)

From where?
Heheeheheheheheheheh ehe.
I actually know him, he was an excellent Ref in his time but that was some decision.
A Kerryman reffing Cork in an all ireland final should never have been allowed.

I know, but we had the 88 All Ireland in the bag when he gave meath a free in the last minute for nothing! could have been 3 in a row!

Which All-Ireland did Colm O Neill get sent off? I think it was the 1990 to clinch the double but i`m not too sure...... I was sitting there anyway, roaring away when the scuffle broke out between himself and Mick Lyons..."Go on Colm, hit that fucker". Next thing some middle aged woman turns around in front of me, "Colm wouldnt do a thing like that". "What would you know?" was my response in keeping with a typical reply from any cheeky 12 year old. I got an elbow from my old man......."Shut up, thats his mother".................... .................... ............. Needless to say she was wrong.

Why should a Kerry Ref influence your decision on another county?

Why should a Kerry Ref influence your decision on another county?
we just always associate the prick with meath.one of the worst refereeing decisions ever witnessed,by a kerry man, with cork losing out,to meath...
thats a sore point with us Tom

Grand and for a great ref it was a shocking decision.
Its just a ref from Dublin wouldn't influence my decision on Armagh.
It'd make me hate Dublin more.

Why should a Kerry Ref influence your decision on another county?
the fact that the meath 87,88 side were a dirty shower of tramps and that Prick Sugrue allowed em away with murder in 88.
Its a prickly subject with Cork fans.

Still don't get how a ref from one county influences your decision on another.
I understand the whole Cork, Meath hate - well kind of, thought Football was only for Fellas who can't play Hurling????

It doesn't.
But that prick will forever be associated with that match by Cork fans.

Stafford was / is one of the quietest men you might ever meet. On and off the pitch. Bit harsh to be called a prick for his troubles. If he was in the papers day in day out perhaps it might be more warranted... Poor auld Staff!! He was the most honest of the full forward line of the time - O Rourke, Stafford and Flynn, by a country mile. Pointed the frees that the other two would 'win'.
