Could do one between now and the end of the season and then maybe start another one for the World cup.

It would be something similar to Amadeus's champions league competition but it would be constantly ongoing and you would have the choice over selections. It would be based on having virtual bets.

e.g. John bets 10 points on Arsenal to beat Middlesborouh at odds of 1/3
and 3 points on Man United to beat Man City at odds of 4/5

Jim bets 1 point on Man City to beat Man United at odds of 9/2

Tony bets 5 points on Man United to beat Man City at odds of 4/5
and 1 point on Middlesborough to beat Arsenal at odds of 8/1

Arsenal and city both win so the scoring would be as follows:

Jim in first place with 4.5 points

John second with 0.33 points

Tony third with -6 points

As you can see Jim bet the least amount of points and had less selections than the other 2 but is comfortably in the lead. In a tipping competition you can have as many or as little selections as you like. It's all about being shrewd and selective. There would be a cap of 10 points per selection though so you can bet on a scale of 1-10 points on each selection you have.

What d'ye reckon lads? Anybody interested? 'twould be purely for fun and pride. I'd organise it no prob. 'twould probably start next week some time.

There would be cut off times to register your selections. Obviously I wouldn't be online 24/7 to monitor peoples' posts. You'd have to have midweek (tuesday - friday) selections posted at say midday on tuesday and weekend (saturday - monday) selections posted at say 10am on saturday.

Seems like a hell of alot of work for you mate!!

I just go the bookies but wouldn't mind losing a few points each week rather than a couple of hundred euro's!

OK, maybe we could put a cap on how many selections people have. Maybe a max of 3 or 5 per half week.

Nice one dots. I'll probably be offline a lot over the next week or so but I should hopefully be ready to go in 7-10 days. I'm in the process of switching broadband providers at the moment.

BTW, it wouldn't only have to be restricted to the EPL. 'twould be on any match that we can find odds for.

No problems at all. I just like Smart's offer of 35 euro pm for broadband and telephone line rental. It'll cut my monthly costs.

I don't think it would be too bad if I put a limit on peoples weekly selections. It might be a bit crazy alright if people had 20 - 30 selections but it wouldn't be too much of a problem if it were limited to 5 or so.

Makes sense, its up to people to use their selections wisely then.

'twould be purely for fun and pride.

That's me out of it.

I will however have a heads up with you for the World Cup (FIFA), per round.

Simple rules .
Each game.
Correct result 1 pt
Correct score result 2 pts

Right lads, I didn't get around to doing this for the end of the season but I'd definitely be up for organising it for the world cup. What do ye think?

I'm planning one for the World Cup.

It'll be something like the Champions League Bracket Competition but i'll be putting in odds for each game and an *"amount"* of money to bet on the games as well.

I'll have graduated then but don't start the job till August so i should have plenty of time.

I'm going to limit it to about 20-25 regulars though cause i get sick of calculating and keeping track of scores for people who play one or two weeks, fuck off and then come back again.

Yeah that sounds good. The thing to do is take in whatever amount of entries at the start and if some people miss a round then tough luck - they're out of the comp.

If you're limiting the number of entrants then I might still go ahead and do it too. There'll probably be room for the both of us!

why not just limit it to the top 20 or something from the CL competition you have running.

Yep might do something like that, but it's unfair on people who joined late but have been regulars every since. I'm not that worried about it really i just hate having to right the formula for some guy who enters one week and never comes back. -AmadeusDC-
