Anyone have any problems with it ? Been through the lot of new kids on the block and frankly there are a bunch of jokers with specials offers that once you ask about turn out to be not so special , just a way to take you hard earned bean.
So I’m thinking eircom is the one for me for my wireless BB connection anyone got a reason why this would not be a good step ??????

Ive had eircom bb, twelve months and its ok. I still think its a bit slower than what i expected. Also if you have eircom net anytime, make sure you actually tell them to deactivate this from your account when you get the broadband, as they will just keep billing you for both.

Yeah, i got them to back pay this though (i flipped out on the phone) so all is good ... but you would think that this is automatic though !!

No issues with Eircom, despite being fecked around in the initial stages trying to get connected, mind you that seems to be the issue with ALL ISPs at the moment in Ireland.

Eircom are a shower of rip-off merchant wankers who charge exorbitant prices even though they, as a private company, have been given ownership of the telecommunications infrastructure as paid for by the Irish taxpayer. They use this monopolistic position to force other operators, who are forced to use the same infrastructure, to be as uncompetitive as themselves.

Their customer support is diabolical - appalling website, unfriendly automated telephone support, almost impossible to speak to a human operator, and those that do exist are generally unpleasant and rude. They make it as difficult as they can for a customer to get a phone line disconnected - I was forced to write them a long letter begging them to withdraw their service.

From what I know of their broadband offerings, they are uncompetitive even within the Irish marketplace, and most certainly when compared to offerings in other European countries.

I will never sign up for an Eircom service again.

I spit upon their beards.

I would have to agree there assholes to deal with. It seems at the moment sevices are magicly appearing on my bill that i didnt request ' Talktime/Netanytime'. Then they expect me to go through an ordeal to get them turned off..
To anyone ringin eircom when the automated voice starts just shout AGENT and you will get straight on to some muppet that hates life!

I have had Eircom Broadband for 6 months now and aside for my enormous scepticism prior to getting it I can honestly say I am surprised and content with the internet service.

My phone is fucked though!

Yes. It's handy too when you can fuck customers about, without any risk of losing business. I rang the bastards up a couple of years ago:

"Hello. My dial-up internet access doesn't seem to be working since I moved house."

"Oh, have you checked your modem settings?"

"They're fine. I'm using the same computer and same settings that I had in my last house. I had no problems before."

"OK. Let me run a line test. Give me 2 minutes.."

2 seconds later...

"It's fine."

"Eh, no. It's not fine. My dial-up worked fine on my last phone line. It's not working now. There are no problems with my settings. The connection is obviously failing in the part where the modems are negotiating PHY settings (I know something of communcations systems)"

"OK, I'll run the line test again.... It's fine."

"No it's not. What are we going to do?"

"I dunno. What kind of computer do you have?"

"A Mac."

"Oh, that must be the problem then."

"No, it's not, I never had a problem before."

"If you want, I'll send an engineer out to check your line. I'll have to bill you £1,023,967.45 for this."

"You can fuck off."

"OK so", while chuckling to herself, "I really don't give a shit, because there's no one else you can go to. Ha, ha!"

Wankers.

Heh heh heh...

Thats unreal.

Two friends of mine work for them. Even they were saying stay away from them.

Indeed, cunts.

i'll join Ciotóg with the beard spitting.

i may urinate a little on the beards also.

to draw a parallel using another of their "services", .com .net and .org on sale most places for around the world for about the ten dollar mark, normally this entitles you to some nice ad-free webspace and maybe a few other goodies, depending on where you go.

for some reason, unknown to myself, if you want to buy a .com or a .ie off eircom, you have to pay them

wait for it (i find this hilariously nausiating)

one hundred and twenty seven euro

Ha. Ha. Ha.

isn't that a good joke? on *YOU*.
