United will win.
Bar European form they are playing really well in the league.
The draw against Everton was fierce unlucky and with Ruud back tonight they'll score 3 or 4.

Arsenal beat Chelsea at weekend and its all fun and games again.

on current Arsenal form they'll get rolled over in midfield.
They are horrible under high ball too which gives Chelsea a big edge in the physical side too.

Can't see Arsenal doing it but then again form goes out the window in these games and they are class going forward.

Henry could cause em major trouble.

3 or 4?? they could barely score 1 against Everton at the weekend.

It'll be 1 all or united will sneak it 2-1.

Yeah but for bad finishing they would have scored 5 and with Van back tonight a similar performance should be enough to overcome Wigan.

Saying that I'd take 1-nil

If United do not match Wigan's work-rate and passion they could well fail to take all three points. Wigan are very organised and commited and have pace throughout the team. Tough one for the mancs, if they're players aren't up for it they'll come away with nothing.

think if united play like they did 1st half against everton they could be a few up by halftime, fear is the longer it stays scoreless we could become more and more desperate like we did sunday, having ruud back is a big plus, wouldnt mind seeing ronaldo actually put in a performance as well, ill say 3 -1 united.

FFS - No Ronaldo, No park but The Scottish Wonder on the Right.
Retract my earlier 3 or 4 goals approach with that clown on the right.
I still have hope for Fletcher as a central player but not on the right - too slow, and can't cross well and can't take on his man and one footed.

FFS.

No Silvestre either - apparenetely he has a knock.

Fletcher is playing well

seriously what game are you watching?

Fletcher is having a mare, he passes straight back to Wigan every time he gets possesion, on three occassions his first touch has moved the ball three to four yards away from him.

If you think he's playing well then I really am lost for words.

Are you sure you're not confusing him with the shortish ginger fella in midfield?

How bad - looks like a super performance.
Only thing is Wigan had quite a lot of chances.
So obviously more needs to be done but a good confident home win is exaclty what was needed for the team, manager & fans.

STEVIEG

The important thing now is that United win against Villa and cut it to 6 points before the Arsenal/Chelsea game. Hard to see United winning about 10 on the bounce and Chelsea losing a few but at least they need to put the smallest bit of pressure on. I mean it's not as if United have too many other complications along the way!

was it ever in danger?

regardless of last nights result, fergie would not have been sacked.
There is no advantage to getting rid of your manager mid season because of inconsistency, unless you're bottom of the table with 5 points!Who's available to do better at the moment???
Wait until the end of the season, like the pool did with Gerry H.

yeah, it's hard to see Arsenal losing 3 in a row, and they should be able to raise their game for Chelsea.

I wouldn't put it past them to sneak a win at highbury either.

United were playing poorly around the time they beat chelsea as well though, and Arsenal still seem to be able to raise their game for the big games. At home I think they should manage at least a draw, or sneak a win even.

Don't get me wrong, I know all that. But Chelsea dominated Arsenal with such apparent ease in both emconters this season , I just can't see it happening. Much as I hope it does!
