Is this a case of bad timing for the pool , getting in the way of the great run they're on
thoughts?

If they take it seriously then probably. If they go out there and laze about, get a bit of rest etc then it could well be worth their while at the end of the season.

the 4 games in 8 days over christmas is a worry. i reckon any disruption to the current run (which this is) is bad. time will tell on that one.
but with arsenal struggling, and utd looking a bit vulnerable, there's not many teams who look like they could put a good run in.
injuries could prove our undoing again. with whitbread out on loan, the back four look thin, the only visible centre back cover is josemi and traore, crikey!

Maybe Liverpool should withdraw from the FA cup in order to prepare for the World Club Championship?

LFC are on a great run at the moment and set off for Japan in 2nd place in the premiership.Still dont think they ll catch Chelsea as I cant see the billionaires droppng many points between now and May.However as I ve said on previous posts, runners up spot is there for the taking this season.
