Real Madrid are still hoping to prise Arsene Wenger away from Arsenal.

The Spanish giants are looking for the man to be their new coach next season after sacking Brazilian Wanderley Luxemburgo last weekend.

And despite Wenger saying he's happy to stay at Highbury, Real are still hoping to land him.

According to The News Of The World vice-president Emilio Butragueno is poised for talks with David Dein at Friday's Champions League draw in Switzerland.

And the smart money is that Wenger will soon be offered a £15million three-year deal to move to the Bernabeu.

A top Real source said: "It is well known that Florentino Perez is a great admirer of Wenger and has never given up hope of finally persuading him to manage Madrid.

"There could be some developments this week as Emilio Butragueno will meet Mr Dein.

"Perez has not been put off by Wenger's public declarations about the matter as he knows the French manager holds real in very high regard."

The renewed Real speculation comes at a time when Wenger's Arsenal are faltering badly in the Premiership.

Their title hopes have been sunk virtually without trace following another away defeat - 1-0 at Newcastle on Saturday.

They're now down to sixth in the table, a massive 17 points behind leaders Chelsea.

To be honest I can't see it happening. A - It's in the NotW. B - Anyone who took over Madrid has no guarentees. How long do you have? Who picks the team? Who buys the players? I can't see Real allowing anyone to drop Raul or David T-shirt, eh, Beckham. Plus I think Wenger is going to want to see what happens to the young players at the club.
