I tend to disagree... there was lots going on all year, you just had to look for it... I've heard lots of people bitching about nothing happening, but if they took the time to actually look up some of the programs, online or otherwise, they'd have seen that there was in fact plenty going on by way of culture... The coverage could possibly have been better, but there was stuff happening for those who actually got off their asses and looked it up...

to those people who said it was shit, any chance you could quantify that statement?... what would you have liked to have seen more of exactly?...

All in all it was a missed opportunity. It is clear that the 2005 committee singularly failed to engage or communicate with Cork at large. The formal programme was not particularly impressive and did'nt capture many of the good things that happened throughout the year. This in itself suggests that much of what took place happened in spite of 2005 and not because of it. Sadly, the year delivered neither momentum nor legacy.
