The legendary status of MÓM as a commentator is well documented and discussed now and I won't add anyhing more here other than to say that he's an absolute genius. However, I wanted to give an honourable mention to a true Cork success story, RTÉ's rugby commentator Michael Corcoran. I don't think you need to be a rugby-head to appreciate this man - never have I heard a commentator as engaging, and the man's wit and passion for the game are a joy to behold. I've been a fan of his for many years now, re-inforced yesterday by his fantastic commentary on the Muster vs Leinster match.
A recent highlight I remember was his observation during one game that "Ulster's defence is really saying NO today, isn't it?". Cue nervous laughter from Tyrone Howe, or whatever injured Ulster player was doing co-commentary. Brilliant!
So all say to you is, dowtcha Michael boy!
