Good article
So long as you're a total retard.
3/4 of that rant is a hyperbole strewn tantrum about the vilification of the poor martyrs in the public sector. Whether or not people went shopping on the day of the strike is irrelevant - no one cares about that.
People care that they are overpaid, our country can't afford their excesses or cushy benefits anymore and they need to take a modest paycut.
But hey, we should all just do like the article says and "get over it".

If you want people to rate it themselves why did you put it up as a "good article"? That clearly gives your opinion. Just a question like. Don't stress or anything!

doesn't matter what he thinks, what we think or whatever.
bottom line is we can't afford them. they won't engage in any realistic negotiation, they're in cloud cuckoo land with what they expect and they are a luxury we cannot afford. also, everyone else in ireland has had very poor first-hand experience of the civil service and have no sympathy for them.
all the moderately clever word-play and sarchastic imagery in the world won't change these facts so no, i don't think it was a good article.

May I compliment you on your use of smileys. You are just getting them spot on my friend, it's like hearing the tone of your sarcasm but with a smiley. Very clever indeed, don't know why everyone doesn't employ that tactic! Well Done, A gold star for you!

This was equally shit the first time you put it up and it got a similarly muted response.
Giving it it's own thread is pretty tragic.

Apparently they do if half the meeja coverage is to be believed...
"Excesses"??? Jesus, 'twas only yesterday that we all took a helicopter to lunch where we proceeded to snort charlie off a hooker's belly.

Just because something's hyped in the media doesn't mean people give two shits about it - it's information, not news. People are entitled to shop wherever the hell they want, I don't blame anyone for cross border shopping - fair fucks to them if they're saving a few bob. I buy a lot of stuff online, what's the difference? We've been ripped off enough in the last few years from absolutely every imaginable direction. Anyone moaning about cross border shopping is either a complete spa or owns their own business. (Or lives in Newry, the traffic must be annoying alright)
"Excesses"???
(Leaving out the pay disparity) Yes, Public sector pensions...they're very excessive.

That sounds like it was from that "article".
Unfortunately, no amount of exaggerations or funny comparisons can escape the simple fact that cuts are unavoidable. Benchmarking goes in 2 directions, you can't have it both ways.
I'm not out to bash anyone, but I think a reality check and honest assessment of where the country is at financially is needed.
and you could eat alphabet spagetti and shit a better article than that tribune crap.
