I think it should. 1/30th of all the money that will come into the coffers this year will go to feed this bloated monster. Imagine, we could employ 20,000 people on €50,000 p/a with the money saved. How many jobs are created every year as a result of FÁS courses? Would it be above 25 would you say?

Too true, most of the FAS courses as well as those run by the VEC in such places as the school of goms are a complete waste of time. Housewifes doing ECDL's? I ask ya!!!! :eek:

Or with an employment subsidy scheme, you could employ upwards of 100,000 people per year @ a subsidy of €9,600 p/a (206 p/w)
So 20% of the current people on the dole could be in work right now, improving the economy and tax returns (and still get their own social welfare payments too!)
