Quotes for an identical 2 book online order from Ireland's finest bookseller and Amazon's UK store (including shipping).
Does anyone actually buy books from Eason's?

Cork bookshops are generally poor. I went into Waterstones looking for Richard Price and all I could find were a selection of books by Katie Price. Vibes and Scribes is the best.

Seriously? I saw Lush Life and Freedom land in there the other day.

Or was that when I was in Dublin last week...?

I'd say it was.
Waterstones' Classic section is very puny too - V&S's is much better.

Vibes can be good for books sometimes.

I like the layout of the newer premises.

All this talk about bookshops it's got me come over all sentimental and maudlin...
Christmas last I visited Dublin, first time in 20 years, and discovered Fred Hanna's had gone. Now there was a gentleman, a scholar and a bookseller..

Where is Vibes & Scribes in Cork?

The main one is on Bridge St. (between Patrick's Bridge and Patrick's Hill). The newer one is on the quay past the Opera House, but it specialises more in arts & crafts/stationery and art and architecture books.

i was in waterstone's one day had a look at look around and i though to myself i would be better off not reading just full of bad z list celb's on there 2nd book about themself's and still in there 20's. but the book's the staff have recommended are pretty good

in easons defence they have to pay all the cost the local council taxes, we pay higher wages in ireland and amazon sell from jersey which is a tax haven does this mean i shop in eason does it f**k
i go to play.com where the shiping is free
