Come September how well will we have done in the All Ireland hurling and football ?

Will we reach one or both finals ? will we win one or two of them ? or will we lose out and not reach any final

How will we do ?

Fingers crossed we'll make it in both, but I think the football is a more realistic one for this year.

We are good enough to win both.

If we do not win any well so be it but it is always good to be optimistic about your team in sport.

Footballers will be walloped by Kerry in the semi.

Hurlers are an embarassment - depends on the draw but KK might hammer them again this year.

Donal Og's book is all there is to look forward to.

I agree (and I'm a Corkman). It's no wonder the rest of the country say we're a bunch of arrogant bastards. The footballers have a chance if someone else beats Kerry (don't fancy meeting them in Croker again).
The hurlers can only win the AI if they don't meet KK or Galway (which is unlikely to happen).

Time to shake off the inferiorarity complex re Kerry. This year we are just better than them. We will beat them anywhere, at any stage.

A bit of honesty finally.

The hurlers have zero chance - what are people basing their opinion on there that we might have a chance is beyond me. Most would put Tipp,Waterford,KK and Galway ahead of us. In a c'ship of about 7/8 teams that is a fair amount.

The footballers have a chance but recent history would suggest they will lose in Croke Park. The performance against Limerick (hardly a SUPER POWER) was not exactly convincing.

Hurlers have no chance ,I would agree with that unfortunatly, Kilkenny made the step up and the hurlers couldnt match them.No matter what manager was there .I still think Cork are very danerous in Football ,they could do it depending on draw

Exactly - they need a handy draw. Maybe if they avoided Kerry and got the likes of Tyrone or Dublin in the final on an off day.

It just blows my mind at current moment how 28% have said Cork will both Hurling & Football - tis typical really of the arrogance that surrounds Cork GAA supporters.

Listen here boyo..

It is not about arrogance at all.I see nothing wrong with thinking your team can win the All Ireland. If we all went around the place thinking and saying we will lose there would be no-one at games. It will be tough but we are well able to rattle anyone in the hurling or football on any given day.

Now run along with your arrogane bullshite. The rest of the country are just jealous that we have confidence in our teams.Noting wrong with that.

Yes the rest of the country are jealous at the strikes, getting hammered in Croke Park by Kerry on a regular basis, being about the 3rd/4th best hurling team in the country out of about 7 proper teams, etc.

Of course it is arrogance. Fair enough if the hurlers and footballers were winning all round them, then confidence would be appropriate, but they ain't - hence most see it as stupid arrogance.

Well there was 3 points between Tipp and Cork in the first meeting and that was with a Cork missing a lot of chances and with a new look forward line so i don't think they are that far ahead of cork. If indeed they are ahead of them. Waterford always blow hot and cold. They were woeful against Limerick and a better team would have beaten them. Galway, we all know what happened last year. Ok, it was a tight game but consider that Joe Canning got almost all the scores and it was with Donal og getting sent off. Their performance in the second half did not suggest that they have solved that problem either and I don't think they will stroll it against Clare this weekend.

Everyone has a chance - you could make an argument for any team really and tis especially easy to do when you have 7 teams but lets be realistic. They have not performed well over the last year or so and if they met KK in the morning they would be well beaten most would accept. Most would accept that there are 2 if not 3 teams ahead of them.

They will of course make the quarter or semi but again with 7 teams tis hardly an achievement.

So you are saying i make supporters from around the country hate us because i am confident in my own team?

I go to many games and have a pint with opposing supporters. We have the banter and i would expect them to think they will win just like i expect Cork to win.Do you want me to say ah we will lose today alright?

I cannot figure out what sort of mentality you have but i certainly hope you have nothing to do with training GAA teams.I train young kids GAA football.I try and give them confidence and i hope they will always have it.If we lose a game we would always respect the winners. But we always think we can win.

Big difference between being confident (based on recent form) and being an arrogant Cork GAA supporter. Sure you just came out with this statment a while ago - hardly a ringing endorsement of your attitude towards other supporters.

Well you have to ask; has there been, with the obvious exception of Kilkenny, any other team in Hurling that has managed to maintain any level of consistency? I am not saying that Cork has been world-beaters, they have not with any stretch of the imagination. However, I do think that with some luck and the traditional effort, Cork can be up there challenging in the latter stages. I don't quite think they can win it but they won't be too far off it

Ah Lofty come off it now man - sure of course they will be in the latter stages - with fucking 7 teams they would have to be. Already in the quarters - get a handy draw and you make it to the last 4 - sounds good on paper but we know the truth.

Why would he give a shit what anyone else thinks of Cork? As a supporter, you'd want to be fairly insecure to be bothered by what your rivals think of you. I doubt if liverpool people give much of a damn about what manchester folk think of them, or if leinster supporters waste any time worrying about the opinion munster fans have of them this summer.

The rest of the country can carry on with their kilkenny/kerry circle jerk for as long as they like. We will never accept this. Nobody is saying we are the best in Ireland in both codes at the moment but we are and have been for some time the most competitive dual county with honourable mentions for galway, offaly, wexford and in more recent times, dublin and limerick. Our much maligned footballers have only been beaten by kerry in the last 5 years and if it was any other pisspot county you'd have half the media writing how "everybody would love to see them finally break through". We are Cork, we will continue to believe in our teams and our people and support them all the way. It is a damn sight healthier than all the pricks around the country who can't wait for us to slip out, like the arseholes who were cheering around the country when KK beat us in the league, regardless of how their own teams were flailing about.

I'd strongly fancy us in the footy but think we might struggle if we come up against the best team of the decade, i.e. Tyrone. We'd do Kerry again, no problem.

Hurling will be tough. I think Kilkenny are beatable, but I'm not sure if we're the team to beat them. Galway are looking a lot more rounded this year and it'll be a tall order to put them away, but it's doable. As for any of the other teams, I think we can cope with them.
