Heard this today.
Last weekend Minister Martin left his gaff in Ballinlough in a cab to go to Cork airport.
He then got in a helicopter that took him to The Pairc for the match.
He then got the same chopper back to the airport and another taxi to the orchard for a few pints.

He lives about a ten minute walk from the stadium.

i hope the taxpayers were not paying for this.

I read in the Mail on Sunday, he has spent 1.6million on flights on the government jet...E160,000 of which was to fly to Cuba via Washington DC to pick up Charlie Bird so he could meet Fidel Castro.

I know he is Minister for Foreign Affairs, but ffs mockery of money wasted.

I heard because he stayed so quiet about the Cork airport debt that he is now discreetly going to try to give them the 160 million by using the airport as much as he can!

And we all thought he was a langer!

Spotted the helicopter alright, thought 'what a wanker' instantly. If it was him he's an utter tard.

I have no problem with the minister for foreign affairs using the government jet (which incidentally is currently in Darfur, having flown a negotiating team there to try and negotiate the release of Irish Aid Worker Sharon and is on standby ready to fly her home if her release is secured), but I certainly would have a problem with Mary Coughlan using the government jet to fly to and from Donegal on personal business.

Also Bertie Ahern used to get the government jet to fly from Baldonnel to Dublin Airport to collect him when he was using it, and then drop him back to Dublin Airport when he got back from wherever he was, before taking off again and returning to its base at Baldonnel.

I highlighted this a few times here on this forum at the time.

Also Martin Cullen should have been sacked when he was caught using a helicopter to fly from Waterford to Killarney.

This place is starting to resemble the last days of the Ceaucescu regime in Romania. The only problem is that Eamon Gilmore gave the ICTU conference in Killarney a guarantee that when Labour gets back to power he will legislate for mandatory union recognition.

With the current arithmetic, this means that a vote for Fine Gael will mean that David Begg and his buddies will end up calling the shots, as they will have their political wing, the labour party, in government. If only Fine Gael were strong enough to get elected on their own.

It was McManus who arrived in the chopper......would have been political suicide if Martin had done that.

Btw has Martin opened his mouth re the docklands bridge or has any journo had the balls to ask him???

Don't know how south central keep voting that langer in!
