A few athletes stateside have started incorporating MMA training into their general fitness regimes recently. Matt Leinert and Shaq are two that come to mind. I'm sure it is fantastic for their cardio.

Stephen Ireland has a GREAT chance to become an established Premier League star this year. For the last couple of seasons he has out performed pretty much all of his team mates. With Man City seemingly set to improve again this season if he keeps on going the way he has he'll become a real marquee player in the league. If you look at Chelsea when they started signing all around them it was still Terry and Lampard that emerged as the biggest players. Drogba too I suppose (except under Big Phil) but fellas like Cech and Robbben burned out after initially shining brightly and others like Crespo, Sheva, Veron, Ballack, Deco etc. never really got going. It'd be great to see a lad from Cobh out performing the likes of Robinho, Eto, Tevez and whoever else may come in week in and week out.
