[To get away from individual Green Party members, I have reproduced a thread from another site related to the Green Party. It seems we are to be castigated for our shortcomings if we do not acknowledge the Greens as some kind of moral force rather than just a political party.
I]A guest journalist by the name of Eamon Delaney, filling in for Liam Fay in the Sunday Times, has decided that ‘ the Green party was “punished for the economic policies of Fianna Fail “ and that this “ is terribly short sighted and an indictment of how parochial our political system is. “
Mr Delaney appears not to have noticed that the Green Party, in the best traditions of any Fascist Party, had been busy expelling/ pushing out the door environmentalists who wanted the party to stand by its principles in the run up to the recent elections. Nor has he noticed that many people decided that the Greens simply lied their way to power or that the Greens were the main supporters for corrupt politicians identified by the Mahon Tribunal.
“Irish political life is“, according to Mr Delaney, “increasingly subject to shrill campaigns driven by sections of the media and publicity- hungry politicians”. This journalist appears not to have noticed that no one more resembled a shrill harridan than Mr Gormley in opposition.
Mr Delaney objects to journalists who on a daily basis fill the papers with” heart rending stories of children awaiting operations that are delayed because of financial shortages”. Presumably the Irish media should ignore these stories - perhaps they should concentrate on heart rending stories of polar bears and other ‘victims’ of global warming instead or of the injustices done to multi-millionaire artists and writers who have to pay tax on their incomes over the first €250,00 they earn each year. Maybe we should set up an official Green Party thread where you can post every little mis-giving you have about the party and individual members? 4 threads started today in relation to the Green Party, FFS!

The Dan Boyle stuff was an example of your agenda which you dont have to widen by a huge degree to attack the Greens (even you might get that one Christopher).
If the Greens are upsetting fat fucktards like you so much then they may be just worth a second or third preference at some stage.
Now, any chace that you can leave the intregrity of the forum in some way intact and just fuck off?
thanks.

Ok to raise the level of the debate, i am posting the first reply to this thread from our sister site :
Eamon Delaney Eamon Delaney - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is editor of Magill magazine and is not a green supporter by any means - he is right-wing economically and I guess might be described as liberal socially - as in PD-type liberal. I find him to be a bit of a twat mouthing off not very knowledgeably but each to their own.
He is not a 'tame journalist' by any means. However, I do find my stomach lurching at the number of FF and right-wing sympathisers who are coming out in support of the greens lately. Tis a bit worrying that thats where the vocal support for the greens is coming from. Who is benefitting from the "green economy" policies?

"Political Party In Lie Shocka"
The greens had a choice. Spend another 5 years on the fringes or compromise a few policies and start Ireland on the road to addressing climate change. This is politics. If you want people to vehemently stick to every single thing they ever supported see your right wing religionist.
Get. Over. It.

On balance I find the internicine warfare between the Greens more amusing than anything else and so very predicatable - anybody who had spent half an hour reading about group psychology could have predicted what was going to happen.
It is interesting to look for parallels to what has happened to the Greens.
For example consider how Hitler used the Brown Shirts until it became inconvenient to have them around anymore...exit the Brown Shirt Leaders !
Of course the inconvenient environmentalists of the Greens havent had such a dramatic exit from the Party, but gone they have !
This is politics You are quite right when you say this is politics - so I suggest you and your kind get used to it ! If you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen and stop feeding this selfrighteous bullshit about the environment - fact is the Greens are probably going to do more harm than good to the environment anyway.
I have been told to fuck off so often here that I am going to make it my business to stay and llike the Skibbereen Eaglle of old, i will be definitely keeping my eye on Gormless ,Boyless and Co !
