I have a few Euros in a deposit account in AIB and they are currently paying 0.8% interest. That's useless. It is insulting.
Who is offering better deposit rates?
I want someplace that is safe (preferably covered by the government guarantee) and access to the money, say, at a maximum of 30 days notice.
I am sure some of you cute hoors out there already have the research done...
Thanks, in advance

Rabo Direct?? Ive a Post Office Deposit Account Plus...handy, not sure of the interest though.
I think the highest rate in the Irish market at the moment is someone like HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland). They aren't covered by the government's guarantee.
Rabodirect aren't paying as much as they used to; their original rates were basically to get customers on board. They're also not covered by the government's guarantee.
AIB and Ulster Bank both have high interest regular saver accounts. AIB are under the government's guarantee. I'm not sure about Ulster Bank. Their was talk it was to be extended to them and National Irish Bank.

Put it into Prize Bonds down in the GPO. You won't get any interest like all other accounts - but its rock solid and you just might get lucky ;-)

My advise would be not to take financial advise from an illiterate Monaghan lad.
