Boyle speaks on matter of importance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dan Boyle emerged from his self imposed silence following his embarassing election defeat to speak on a matter of great national importance.
Whilst devotees awaited for his statement, they wondered if perhaps he had resloved the problems concerning NAMA, had found the money to vacinate 12 years old girls, reversed cut backs in the health and/or education system etc, etc.
But no it was much more important than that !
Dan Boyle said one of the two Seanad seats should go to the Green Party !.
Mr Boyle, the deputy leader in the Seanad, had warned that the nomination would be seen by the Greens as "indicative of the future spirit of this government and how it will continue" and that Fianna Fail should "take nothing for granted".
Green devotees stood up and cheered wildly, Dan was back and is determined to spare Former Lord Mayor of Galway City, Niall O Brolchain, the humiliation of looking for a real job - lets be honest, most of the ten thousand jobs in renewables are minimum wage jobs which wouldnt even cover a half a councillor's expenses !
Mr O Brolchain came third in a vote behind Dan Boyle and Deirdre de Burca in 2007 when the party chose its Seanad appointees. He has told party bosses that he wants the nomination.
"
The Green Party concedes the seat left vacant by Mr Kett's death should go to Fianna Fail. But they are furious over assumptions that the second seat should also go to Fianna Fail.
"We see this as an opportunity to get the government representation right in the Seanad. We'd have expectations as much as Fianna Fail and nothing should be taken for granted," Mr Boyle said." (Ir Indo)
Green devotees are truly excited to see the Green Party's policy of recycling take on such as a concrete form and most of all they are thrilled to see that Dan is back !
