Just watched the `98-`99 treble video again and I have to say that was a fantastic team....... the passing, the movement, the goals they scored were phenomenal...... poetry in motion!

The team was without doubt better the midfield swings it

The squad was weaker and they got away without too many injuries that year

Yep, they could do with having more like only four/five options in central midfield but whereby any of the combinations are quality.

Don't think you could say that right now.

Giggs has been drafted in as a centre mid at 35 like, ffs.

Manure simply aren't meant to be European football giants.

Agreed in terms of flair the 1999 team was better than the 2008 & 2009 teams. :)

No doubt about that, thoroughly undeserved. They were a better team than the current frauds though.

KD, you ever hear of the good General, General Mick Collins...

The idiot of the year trophy is named after him. ZC is at a similar level

Say what you like... but the history books suggest otherwise.

I am not part of the SF... I have far to much sporting knowledge and experience to bother with most of the cookoos in here... the majority of whom never as much as kicked a ball in their lives.

It is very rare that a team goes undefeated throughout a whole European Campaign these days

The 1999 team and 2008 team did so, the mark of good Champions

I'd go for this side.

There's more control in this side. And put in a better defence of the CL.

A better defence than anyone in a long time too

Some of the recent defences of it have been embrassing to say to the least, especially in the last few years
