Council Candidates using office addresses

I just happened to notice the "Notice of Poll" information for the Cork City Council elections today and couldn't help noting the number of candidates, especially sitting councillors, who were using office or other addresses other than their home addresses, mostly because they don't actually live in the wards they're standing for election in.

Damien Wallace (FF) - according to the Notice of Poll his address is 28 Shandon Street but this is merely the office where he has his auctioneering business. As far as I know he lives in Montenottee (in the North East Ward, not North Central).

Joe O'Callaghan (FG), Cork North West: always uses 2, Lapp's Quay which is the address of Connolly Hall. Clearly Joe doesn't live in the SIPTU offices and in fact he lives in Blarney, several miles outside the city boundary.

Kenneth O'Flynn (FF), Cork North Central: Uses the address of his father's business at Kilnap, Old Mallow Road. Now I don't know where Kenny lives but I don't think he lives there.

Dr. John Sheehan (FF), Cork North West: Uses the address "Blackpool Bridge Pharmacy" which is in North Central but someone told me he lives in Ballincollig! Anyone know?

Catherine Clancy (Lab), Cork North Central: Uses the address of her sister Kathleen at Assumption Road. Someone told me she lives near the Lough.

Sean Martin (FF), Cork South Central: Uses 137 Evergreen Road as address but I'm sure he lives in either Mayfield or Montenotte.

Lorraine Kingston (Lab), Cork South Central: Apparently she lives in the tiny single-story Labour Party building on Bandon Road !!! Surely she really lives in Blackrock.

There are a few others

John Buttimer (FG) gives the same address (25 Benvoirlich Estate) as his brother Senator Jerry Buttimer. But, as I understand it, neither live there and it's actually the family address.

Pat Gosch (FG) says that she lives at 90 Shandon St, which just happens to be Bernard Allen's office. Maybe there's a real scandal brewing abd he's keeping her there as a mistress, but in fact she lives in Glanmire.

Credit to the following councillors who at least has the balls to admit they didn't live in their area
- Joe Kavanagh (FG candidate in North Central, lives in North-East)
- Annette Spillane (Ind candidate in North Central, lives in Ballyvolane outside the city limits)
- Dennis O'Flynn (Lab candidate in SE, lives in Frankfield outside the city limits)
- Deirdre Foley (FF candidate in SE, lives in Maryborough outside the city limits)

Blackpool is in North central, not North West where Sheehan is standing and he doesn't live over the shop.

If Sean Martin lives on the southside then why does he have to hide behind an office address?
