I never said that it was reserved for footballing gods...nice try.

Yes timing a jump is part of it..but it actaully is possible to hang in the air for that split seconed..there is a technique that many of the great players have mastered...but it is a detail of individual coaching and the persons ability to adopt this technique. These are the margins that make great players but I understand if you dont see or recognise these subtle differences in techniques.Oh dear, duffer is waiting for you Quarky.

I'm nominating afeenY for some special sports forum merit award for the sterling work he's done over the last 2 weeks.

He's single handedly picking off the slamgate posse with their own words. I'd be very worried if I was TimmY, very worried indeed

Just a small point Pol.
This picture indicates forward motion whereas Quarky quite clearly stated that Ronaldo could linger longer in the air than other footballers..
You might say Quarky made a linger longer langer of himself.
Perhaps a hovercraft might have been a better illustration.

Is there some logical reason I always assumed Quarky was a woman of about 20? Kinda like the sports forum version of Blonde Bimbo if you get the picture. Alternatively, a young fella who's only contact with sport is watching sky sports, perhaps wears a burberry hat from time to time. (drives a Punto or a Civic with the blue lights underneath)
